16 years ago we went on a cob building workshop in Mcgregor, run by Jill Hogan. It changed our lives.
We love building with natural and sustainably harvested materials, keeping the impact on our environment to a minimum and generating as little waist in the process as possible. Its easy to build with mud, and dirt cheap 🙂
We are offering a cob building workshop on the farm on Sunday 19th October from 9am to 3pm, where Ross will show and discuss all the cob structures we have built (pizza oven, firebath, house, studio, floor, solar cooker). There will be demonstrations on checking the suitability of different soils and a practical demonstration where participants mix cob to make a demo pizza oven, and plaster it.
This introduction to cob building will give you the skills to go home and build your own pizza oven or small project so that you can get an understanding of the properties of materials available at your site and then go on to larger projects.
