🚨 URGENT COMMUNITY WARNING: FACEBOOK HOOKUPS CAN BE DANGEROUS 🚨

Tonight we responded to a very serious situation on Chamdor Road, Johannesburg where a young woman was rescued during a Facebook hookup/meet-up that had turned dangerous.
If it wasn’t for fast response and quick action, we would be telling a very different and tragic story right now.

⚠️ PLEASE LISTEN, LADIES (AND EVERYONE):
Meeting strangers through Facebook, inbox chats, or “quick hookups” is extremely risky. Criminals use fake profiles, sweet talk, urgency, and promises to lure victims. What starts as a “date” can quickly turn into kidnapping, assault, robbery, or worse.

🔴 COMMON DANGER SIGNS
Pressure to meet quickly
Asking you to share live location
Insisting on meeting at night or isolated areas
Offering lifts from strangers
Refusing public places
Profiles with limited friends or recent activity

✅ STAY SAFE – PROTECT YOUR LIFE
Never meet someone you don’t truly know
Always meet in public places (malls, cafés, police-patrolled areas)
Tell a trusted person where you’re going
Share details and location with family/friends
Trust your instincts — if it feels wrong, leave immediately
Do NOT get into a stranger’s car

You are alive because help arrived in time. Please take this as a warning — your life is precious.

📢 WE URGE EVERY WOMAN:
Your safety is more important than attention, money, excitement, or pressure. No inbox message is worth your life.

Complaints of Linksfield Road , BT Elm Street and N3 offramp .

No Pedestrian crossings ?
No middle island ?
No Traffic Lights , but new intersection for Verge shopping centre ?

Questions raised :
Why was no Robots placed by new road to entrance of Verge ?
Road was extended to a 6 lane roadway but no island in middle of roadway ?
Where must pedestrians cross ?

New side road -
People now stop on the right lane of Linksfield Road to turn , causing obstruction and danger !

Cars coming out centre to roadway now turn right onto Linksfield road in front of oncoming traffic ? This island should have been extended .

A accident occurred with a pedestrian and motor vehicle and thank God that the driver and passenger were not injured , the pedestrian was slightly injured.

What concerns me is that this collision occurred by a Petrol station , thank goodness there was a pole on island or vehicle would have crashed into pedestrians or cars , in a garage , which is hazardous.
I see a serious collision occurring with fatalities .

Problems -
1 vehicles speed from Elm robot down Linksfield at high speeds .
2. Vehicles can’t get out of driveways .
3 . No pedestrian crossing or bridge .

Mr Bill Rundel the DA councilor is more interested in Zama Zama than road safety .

Who is to blame , Sanral or JRA or council is the big question.
