Salted Caramel Doughnuts! 🍩
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 large egg
2 tbsp melted butter
Oil for frying
For the Salted Caramel Glaze:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp water
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp sea salt
Instructions:
1. Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another.
2. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
3. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry spoonfuls of dough until golden brown. Alternatively, shape dough with a doughnut cutter and fry until golden brown. Allow doughnuts to cool.
4. Make caramel by cooking sugar and water over low heat until amber. Then, add cream, butter, and salt.
5. Dip cooled doughnuts into the warm caramel glaze.
6. Allow glaze to set before serving.
(I added caramel popcorn for an extra bit of lavishness!)👩🍳⭐️
