TAX ACCOUNTANT
Afripower Technology is a fast-growing renewable energy and engineering company specializing in solar EPC, energy storage, and power solutions across South Africa.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our finance team and assist with tax compliance, financial reporting, and banking administration.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage South African tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE, Corporate Income Tax, and other SARS-related obligations.
• Prepare and submit tax returns accurately and on time.
• Monitor and interpret changes in South African tax legislation and regulations.
• Liaise with SARS, banks, auditors, accounting firms, and other regulatory authorities.
• Assist with company banking administration, account management, and financial documentation.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Assist management with financial analysis, budgeting, and compliance matters.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting and/or taxation experience.
• Strong understanding of South African tax regulations and SARS requirements.
• Proficient in Sage Accounting, Microsoft Excel, and related accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Advantageous Qualifications
• Professional membership or certification such as SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Previous experience dealing with SARS audits and tax compliance matters.
• Mandarin Chinese language proficiency will be considered an added advantage.
