Two conversations happened in my world at 3.45am today, that reminded me of how easily we misunderstand both Faith and Systems.

1️⃣ THE SNAKE STORY
At 3.50am a U.S. based friend had a dream about a snake attacking her sister back home in Zimbabwe. She prayed, not with the illusion that life’s threats can be magically erased from existence, but for protection and wisdom. About an hour earlier (3am) a snake entered the house. But her son happened to be visiting, and he was able to act immediately.

The moral? Prayer isn't about dodging every difficulty in life. Life happens. Threats show up.

The purpose of spiritual alignment and listening to your inner conviction (the Holy Spirit) is that when the moment comes, you have the discernment, timing, and strength to handle it. Faith and action are not opposites; they work together.

2️⃣ THE CYNICAL WORLDVIEW
Later, around 4am, someone suggested to me that playing by the rules or holding onto faith is "self-delusion"and that success only comes from beating a broken system or treating life like a cynical game.

It’s easy to look at someone who is navigating a tough season or waiting on their next door to open and assume they are just "sitting around praying." But there is a massive difference between passive waiting and active preparation.

While people argue whether prayer or action matters more, the real key is doing BOTH:

You renew your mind daily so you don't ab
sorb the cynicism around you. Romans 12:2-4

You do the work, you upskill, build systems, and stay ready. Faith without action is dead. James 2:14-26

You trust that divine timing and human effort meet at the right intersection.

Don't let anyone convince you that staying grounded in your values means you aren't fighting for your future. Renew your mind, do the work, and let your actions reflect your faith.

When we look at who is allowed to move freely in the digital era and who gets policed, the pattern is as old as time, only now, it’s automated.

Consider these three stories sitting side-by-side in our current news cycle:

1. Coral Hart, a South African author operating in the high-volume self-publishing space, openly uses AI tools to draft and publish over 200 romance novels across dozens of pen names, generating R16.55 million in a single year. She pivots her workflow into a lucrative business, PlotProse, teaching others how to scale production.

2. Simbarashe Kundizeza, the Zimbabwean writer who won the prestigious Caine Prize for African Writing, is almost immediately targeted by The Atlantic. Unverified AI-detection software (Pangram) flagged his award-winning story as "AI-generated". Despite his vehement denials and explaining that his work is deeply personal and rooted in his family’s story, he is forced onto the defensive to prove his own humanity.

3. Dr. Jason Arday, who made history as Cambridge’s youngest Black professor, resigned following relentless public shaming, CV scrutiny, and plagiarism accusations. Though independent institutional reviews cleared him of intentional plagiarism, the devastating impact of that public campaign ended in tragedy, he was found dead at home in London at age 41.

The Double Standard of Modern Gatekeeping:

Why does explicit commercial AI generation produce financial wealth for some, while Black intellectual and creative excellence is met with instant suspicion, hyper-surveillance, and algorithmic trial-by-media?

Gatekeeping vs. The Commercial "Wild West":

When mass-market fiction is published outside traditional prestige bodies, output and speed are rewarded. But the moment Black intellectuals enter elite, gatekept institutions, like Oxbridge or international literary awards, their presence is treated with inherent skepticism. Every accolade must be audited; every line must be double-checked.

The Weaponization of Flawed AI Detectors:

AI detection software is trained overwhelmingly on standard Western English syntax. When an African writer employs rich, translated idioms, distinct regional rhythms, or non-Western cadences, these flawed algorithms frequently flag those unique stylistic structures as "robotic". It is a new form of linguistic bias disguised as tech-enabled objectivity.

The Cost of "Guilty Until Proven Human":

White commercial creators can frame AI as an efficiency tool or business model. Black authors and scholars, however, are trapped in a presumption of deceit, forced to defend their authenticity against tools that were never built to understand them in the first place.

We cannot talk about the rise of artificial intelligence without talking about who holds institutional grace and who is subjected to algorithmic hostility. Creativity and scholarship should be spaces of dignity, not digital battlegrounds where Black voices are constantly required to prove they belong.

Next, I’d personalize the post based on my own experience/evidence and pay attention to what happens:

Did people save the post? How is the audience reacting? How many views did it get? Did it generate interest and sales for the product?
