Providing employees with feedback is essential, especially when we want them to perform and remain engaged. Feedback assists with coaching and developing our employees, making it an effective management tool. It needs to be immediate and effective - but how do we do this in a Globalized environment with virtual offices?

1 - Build a strong feedback culture by ensuring that one-on-ones are priority. Schedule regular feedback sessions. To make the feedback immediate, schedule sessions directly after each project milestone.

2 - Ensure that feedback is positive to increase effectiveness. This is not to say that negative feedback should not be provided when an employee does not perform! However, constant positive feedback that encourages your team to celebrate success and compliment one another on high performance and achievement. Positive recognition and feedback increases motivation and engagement.

3 - Understand how to communicate. This is especially important over social media platforms and email. While body language and facial expressions may be important during face-to-face feedback, the correct use written communication is essential during feedback that is not given face-to-face.
