How do you squeeze in time to work on your online business while homeschooling?

Balancing homeschool and business can feel like juggling flaming torches some days.

We homeschool in the morning and I work on my business in the afternoon.

But I need 2 to 3 hours uninterrapted time with my business.

So, how do you keep the kids occupied during that time?

Here are 5 simple hacks that have saved my sanity (and my schedule):

1. Audiobooks:
Set your kids up with age-appropriate audiobooks. They will stay entertained and learn while you get work done. Bonus: it’s screen-free!

2. Educational Podcasts:
There are tons of kid-friendly podcasts on science, history, and storytelling. Pop one on and let them listen while drawing or building with Legos.

3. Busy Bags:
Create small bags with quick, fun activities—think matching cards, playdough, or simple puzzles. Hand them out when you need a quiet moment.

4. Teamwork Time:
Assign small chores or group tasks (like sorting laundry or prepping lunch). It keeps them busy and teaches life skills.

5. Timer Challenges:
Use a timer to set short, engaging challenges like “Read quietly for 15 minutes” or “Build something amazing with blocks in 10 minutes.” Kids love the urgency, and it buys you focused time.

What’s one hack you use to keep your homeschool day running smoothly while you focus on other tasks?

Share it the comments, I would love to hear your tips!

Can we talk about time management for a sec? Because I’ve been where you are, trying to homeschool, keep the house running, AND figure out how to earn an income online. It’s a lot, isn’t it?

When I first started homeschooling and decided to earn an income online, I felt like I was drowning in to-do lists.

Teaching my daughter, keeping up with the house, and trying to learn how to run a business and it felt impossible to balance it all.

I would stay up late trying to fit everything in, only to wake up the next day feeling exhausted and behind. I kept asking myself, 'How do other moms do this?'

But then I realized: I didn’t need more hours in the day. I just needed to manage my time differently. I created a simple routine, focused on small wins, and found ways to make the most of the time I had.

Now, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to homeschool, grow my business, and still have time for myself and my family.

What’s one thing that helps you manage your time as a busy mom?

I would love to hear your tips in the comments.

Have you ever had a moment where your path became clear?

For me, it was the day I realized that I want to be present for my daughter, to homeschool her without sacrificing our financial stability.

But the fear of stepping away from my permanent teaching position into the unknown was overwhelming.

That pivotal moment pushed me to explore something new, building a flexible business I could run from home.

But I first had to learn to manage my time, juggling homeschooling and building my online business.

Looking back, I’m so grateful I took that leap. It’s shaped the mom, homeschool teacher, and entrepreneur I am today.

Do your mornings feel rushed and chaotic, or calm and purposeful?

I try to aim for calm and purposeful.

I found that mornings are all about setting the tone for the day ahead and I try to make it simple and intentional.

We start with a quick tidy-up, taking care of all the pets, followed by breakfast.

Then, we dive into homeschooling by mid-morning, but we always make sure to sneak in some coffee and snack breaks.

It is not perfect, and some days are messier than others, but this rhythm helps me feel grounded and ready to tackle whatever comes my way.

What’s one morning habit that helps you feel more in control of your day?

I’d love to hear your tips!

Have you ever felt like life was happening to you instead of for you?

That was me a three years ago. I left my permanent teaching position to homeschool my daughter and I love every minute of it.

But finances were a constant worry and deep down, I knew I had to find a way to contribute to our family’s future without sacrificing precious time with her.

I ventured online and tried many things but then I discovered the possibility of building a business that worked around my life instead of running it.

I took a leap of faith, started learning new skills, and step by step, I am creating a life where I can be both present and productive.

It is not easy, but it is so worth it. I learn new things every day and I feel empowered to shape my future and show my daughter what is possible when you dare to dream.

What is your WHY?

What is the dream that keeps you moving forward, even on the hard days?

Let me know below, I would love to hear your story!

Ever wonder what a typical homeschool day really looks like?

Is it all organized schedules and smooth sailing?

Not quite, but that’s the beauty of it!

Most mornings, we start with a relaxed breakfast and we tidy the house. I then we dive in by 9.30/10.00.

We use an online curriculum, yeah, I don't have to prepare lessons. For the next 2 or 3 hours I am there for my daughter helping and guiding her, with coffee breaks in between.

By the afternoon, I am switching hats, teacher to mom, mom to business owner, but the flexibility is what makes this life so special.

What is one thing you love about your daily rhythm, even on the chaotic days?

Have you ever felt like giving up because the mountain ahead seemed too steep to climb?

I know I have.

After I left my permanent teaching position, I found myself feeling overwhelmed by homeschooling my daughter and a sense of guilt for not contributing financially to our household.

It felt like no matter how hard I worked, I was just treading water.

I came across this quote and it changed everything for me:

"The best way to predict your future is to create it."

I realised I couldn’t wait for the perfect time or someone else to hand me the life I wanted. I had to take charge and create it myself.

I decided to step out of my comfort zone and start building something that could change not only my life but my family’s future.

It wasn’t easy, and it’s still a journey. But every small step I’ve taken has been worth it.

I’ve created a work-life balance that allows me to homeschool my daughter while building a business that inspires me.

If you’re feeling stuck, I want you to know it’s possible to rewrite your story.

What’s one step you can take today to start creating the future you dream of?

Drop 'balance' in the comments and I will share with you what changed everything for me.

This is me, raw and real, sharing a piece of my heart today. ❤️

When I first started homeschooling, I thought I had to do it all. Every day felt like a marathon, supporting my daughter, housework, cooking – all while trying to figure out how to contribute financially to my family. I was running on empty.

But i had a lightbulb moment that stopped me in my tracks. I realized I wasn’t truly present. I was always ‘doing,’ but rarely just ‘being.’ That moment changed everything for me.

I knew I had to find a way to balance. I had to prioritize what mattered most while still chasing my dreams of helping support my family. That’s when I discovered this incredible journey of working online.

Now, I get to homeschool, spend quality time with my family, and build a life I’m proud of – all while working a few hours a day.

It hasn’t been easy, and I’m still learning every day. But if you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying too much, know that you are not alone. We are all in this together, figuring it out as we go.

You’ve got this.

What’s one thing you’ve learned about balancing life as a mom?

I’d love to hear your story. 💕

No Homeschool Today—Volunteering Instead! 🐾

Today, we’re trading books for paws and heading to the animal shelter. One of the best parts of homeschooling is teaching empathy and kindness through real-life experiences.

Learning isn’t just about academics—it’s about shaping hearts.
