If you work with teenagers, this may make you uncomfortable, but you need to hear it.
Teenagers do not only need rules. They need relationships.
They do not only need correction. They need connection.
They do not only need adults monitoring their behaviour. They need trusted people who understand what is shaping their identity.
Here are 10 things many teenagers may be silently carrying:
1. They feel pressure to look okay, even when they are not okay.
2. They compare themselves more than they admit.
3. They want independence, but still need emotional safety.
4. They often hear correction louder than encouragement.
5. They may not know how to explain what they are feeling.
6. They are influenced by what they consume online every day.
7. They need boundaries, but also need to understand the reason behind them.
8. They want to be seen as people, not simply managed as children.
9. They need spaces where they can speak without immediately being judged.
10. They are still becoming, and the voices of trusted adults matter more than we realise.
Supporting a teenager is not about controlling every step. It is about helping them build identity, confidence, resilience and purpose from the inside out.
That is why the IN10TEEN Programme Partner model exists.
We equip teachers, counsellors, mentors, youth leaders, church leaders and community organisations to facilitate transformational programmes for teenagers and the adults who influence them most.
You bring your understanding of your community. IN10TEEN provides the programme structure, practical resources, facilitation guidance and ongoing support.
Could you help bring these conversations to more teenagers and families?
