Chutney of gladnie! The braaibroodjie is the highlight of many a braai.
People frequently braai meat as a pretext when all they actually want is braaibroodjies. There is only one traditional way to build a braaibroodjie, you use normal white sliced toaster bread and they have chutney, onion, tomato, cheese, salt and pepper as filling and they are buttered on the outsides. If you stick to and do not omit any of these ingredients, you could also refer to it as the ‘original’.

Now, if you always wanted to argue with me on social media but never had the chance, you can try and convince me the butter should not be on the outside, or that chutney does not form part of the original braaibroodjie recipe, so go ahead but motivate your argument.
