The Mining Right is not the finish line. It is the start of the next phase of the development of the world-class Bengwenyama PGM-chrome project.
With this major milestone achieved, Southern Palladium remains focused on advancing the Project through a number of critical workstreams, including completion of the Definitive Feasibility Study, financing initiatives, engineering progression and development planning.
The Company will continue to work responsibly with all key stakeholders while maintaining momentum toward development readiness and long-term value creation.

What does the Mining Right mean for Southern Palladium?

The granting of the Mining Right is far more than a regulatory approval. It is a transformative milestone that strengthens the Company's development pathway, reduces permitting uncertainty and positions the Bengwenyama Project for its next phase of advancement. In partnership with government and the community, the Company now has regulatory approval and community support to progress the project.
The approval also positions the Company for finalising not only the DFS, but project funding, a potential chrome prepay, for negotiating offtake arrangements, and to start early box-cut and decline development ahead of schedule.
This is an important step toward unlocking the full potential of one of the world’s world-class tier-1 PGM development projects located in South Africa, the home of 87% of the world’s PGM reserves and 72% of global production.

For Southern Palladium, this approval validates years of work across technical studies, environmental management and stakeholder engagement while providing a stronger foundation for engineering, financing and development activities. A defining milestone for Southern Palladium.
Southern Palladium is pleased to announce the granting of the Mining Right for the world-class tier-1 Bengwenyama Platinum Group Metals and Chrome Project.
This approval represents one of the most significant regulatory milestones in the development journey of the Project, showing government and community support for the project, substantially reducing permitting risk and providing a clearer pathway toward future development. The achievement follows years of technical studies, environmental assessments, engagement with investors, the government and regulators and stakeholder engagement.
We thank our employees, shareholders, host community partner the Bengwenyama Community, regulators and stakeholders for their support throughout this process.

From the first whistle to the final trophy-giving ceremony, the Soccer and Netball Tournament held in Steelpoort showcased the power of sport to bring communities together. Southern Palladium was proud to support this memorable event and celebrate alongside players, supporters and families as the tournament reached its exciting conclusion on 2 August. Southern Palladium Managing Director Johan Odendaal and Commercial Manager Boitumelo Maja had the privilege of presenting medals and trophies to the winning teams in recognition of their outstanding performances.

Southern Palladium Executive Chairman Roger Baxter will today present at the Noosa Mining Investor Conference, showcasing how significantly improved Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) metallurgical results are enhancing the value of the Bengwenyama project and reinforcing its position as a premier PGM and chrome co-product development opportunity.

Key DFS highlights include:
β€’ 85.6% estimated chromite recovery, up from 30% in the PFS
β€’ 87.6% overall PGM recovery
β€’ Higher PGM concentrate grades
β€’ An optimised process flowsheet designed to support stronger project economics
