WORKSHOP MANAGER VACANCY

Employment type – Full time
Salary – Market related
Location – Honeydew, Johannesburg

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee and coordinate daily workshop activities. You will implement production, productivity, quality, customer service standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations.

Duties

Measure and report the effectiveness of workshop activities and employee performance.
Booking in trucks, test driving before instruction is given to the mechanics.
Ensure mechanics find and report every fault on every truck.
Ensure parts are ordered and received on time.
Communicate job expectations and coach employees.
Determine staffing levels and assign workload to workshop employees and control productivity.
Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project workshop status.
Verify there is an efficient flow in the workshop, ensuring good quality, and good turnaround time.
Coordinate the spare parts activity to ensure parts availability together with the warranty liaison, to ensure warranty procedures are adhered to.
Ensure all admin is done correctly, and on time on a daily basis.
Ensure repair and maintenance spend is within budget parameters.
Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.
Coordinate activities with other departments.
Ensuring the workshop is clean and tidy at all times.

Requirements

Matric/Diesel Mechanic qualification.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in business management and truck repairing background.

Skills required for the role

Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Highly effective planning skills and techniques.
Knowledge of workshop software packages and MS Office proficiency.
Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data.
Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations.
