As of 15 August 2020 AGBS opened its doors to new clients with a hard-to-refuse offer. We offer a 50% discount on all tax compliance-related services to any new client that joins our family. This goes for capturing work, financial statements, tax submissions, and SARS checks. If you are still on the fence about getting tax compliant, don't be. The deadlines are almost upon us!

- The deadline for manual tax submissions is 26 September 2014
- The deadline for all non-provisional taxpayers is 21 November 2014
- Provisional taxpayers submitting returns via eFiling is 30 January 2015

Tips for your Tax preparation:

1. Collect and safeguard all supporting documentation. Income such as salary and interest, as well as qualifying expenditure such as medical certificates, retirement annuities and pension fund contributions, should be accurately filed on a tax return. (The SA Tax Law now requires all tax payers to keep all supporting documents for a period of five years).

2. Be diligent - submit your return early. This will avoid having to stand in long queues during the dreaded rush if there are any problems with the submission of your return.

3. Make us of a registered tax practitioner. Only an ACCREDITED tax practitioner will be in a position to complete and submit tax returns on your behalf, update and maintain taxpayer registration details or register new taxpayers for taxes.

4. Do NOT offer to pay your accountant or agree to a contingency fee, meaning a percentage of an expected SARS refund. This is NOT an approved practice and may put you at risk for future tax purposes.

5. Read the correspondence you receive from SARS. A feature that has been implemented as of this year, is the eFiling page "Inbox". All new correspondence from SARS will be available here. PLEASE BE AWARE that this inbox is also a legal porthole used by SARS to request additional information if needed.
