If you enjoyed reading about ‘Evolving Beyond Teams’ where we explored the sometimes unintended impact of "us-them"- and "winning/losing"-mindsets that result from the traditional way of thinking about teams in organisations, you might enjoy this article too: https://www.brainzmagazine.com/post/from-silos-to-ecosystems-the-power-of-an-ecosystem-mindset .

We explore the practical distinctions between traditional and ecosystem thinking and their implications across critical organisational dimensions, encompassing goals, structure, interactions, problem-solving, sustainability, culture, and measurements of success.

I invite you to become curious about where you might be stuck with the unintended consequences of the traditional approach and what shift will allow new ways of thinking, feeling and doing in your organisation that will bring you closer to desired results.

Which dimension keeps you stuck with unintended consequences?

This fun way of playing with attention and intention invites us to live and lead authentically and joyfully! If we pay attention to our inner tension (or state), we can integrate that wisdom and align that with our intentions and how we choose our next step (or not!). 😊
Feel free to add anything that comes to mind for you about this flow between attention and intention.

We so often innocently use sports metaphors to define groups of people working together in organisations, but are we considering the subtle impact of these metaphors on how we work together?

I’ve been having so much fun exploring the distinction between operating as a TEAM and how that could shift as we become more like an ECOSYSTEM. It's wonderful to see how this liberates teams to explore collaboration, goalsetting, sustainability and even conflict in a new way.

This inspired me to kick off a series of articles to explore this in more depth and I’ll be sharing some practical tips and reflections in the coming weeks.

I’d love to hear what becomes possible in your team if you’d step into ‘being more like an ecosystem’. Please share your thoughts. 😊

Don't you just love that experience where you learn something new and start noticing it everywhere?

Apparently, it's called the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon (a.k.a. the Recency Bias or Frequency Illusion) which sounds a little meh and does not convey the energetic quality of the 'magical experience', with no offence intended to Baarder or Meinhof. 😉

I recently had that experience when I read about the price we pay for team membership in Transforming Your Team with the Enneagram, written by Ginger Lapid-Bogda and used that as inspiration for the next article I wrote for Brainz Magazine.

I had to smile. Things serendipitously don't always go to plan. 😊
After boldly stating that I’ll be sharing my first article this Friday it became Sunday. For me, Sundays are much better suited for reading, reflecting, and preparing for the coming week.

Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in work relationships, bored, frustrated or even deflated. Feeling stuck in a continuous loop of ‘you do your thing and I do mine’.

If you are keen to try something new – head over to Brainz Magazine and read more about the 6 Simple Steps to Get Unstuck in Stale Work Relationships.

May you find inspiration and become curious to explore and create new, more satisfying, outcomes.

The text on this post should have read ‘Be Brave’ because I’m doing something that is both terrifying and also not such a big deal.

I’ve committed to sharing some (hopefully) helpful articles on Brainz Magazine this year, and the first one will be published this Friday.

“Why would I do this to myself?” I ask with a Macaulay-Culkin-putting-aftershave-on-his-face expression in Home Alone.

I actually love and enjoy creating valuable and beautifully designed content and tools that help leaders and support teams and this terrifyingly-not-such-a-big-deal initiative allows me to do so regularly.

My first article will be about dealing with Stale Work Relationships by ‘Becoming Curious’.

And now I AM curious – how many people came to mind when you read ‘Stale Work Relationships’? 😉 If anyone did, this article might be helpful for you!

Fingers crossed that someone somewhere on the interwebs finds the six-step process I’ll be sharing helpful in getting unstuck and hopefully moving towards more joyful and satisfying work relationships! 🤞🏻

If not, at least know that I had fun writing it.

In February we had the wonderful privilege to launch a human capital development programme with one of my longstanding clients, NexusAG. This project was the culmination of a long-term process of co-creation where we defined the company’s strategic ‘Why’ and ‘What’, supported by a development plan that allow NexusAG to define their unique customer experience and the key competencies required to deliver that experience, consistently.

We selected a small group of dynamic Crop Advisors that completed a personal GAP analysis based on the parameters defined by the abovementioned process to determine their development areas. This was followed by an impact-readiness matrix to prioritise their efforts to create the ideal customer experience. The next phase includes one-on-one coaching conversations to further support these individuals towards achieving their goals.

NexusAG sees the value in a scientific approach when offering Customised Crop Solutions and knows the importance of the human element of connection, fostering caring and supportive relationships that ensure long-term success, and they are willing to invest in that future.

This is a wonderful example of a full-circle approach of building a brand both externally with communication and marketing initiatives that share ‘Who we are’, supported by internal initiatives that develop and align the individuals serving customers.

I am grateful to be part of this process.

May we continue to GROW, CARE and PROSPER.

How can we express gratitude to the teachers in our lives?
