For a long time, I felt like I lived a double life. My career was in the financial sector, but my heart was divided between my financial and communications worlds. I straddle these two worlds and I was happy in both.
For years, my job, whether I was dealing with client relationship communication or financial education, was defined by one thing: empowering people with clarity. My passion was taking complex concepts like retirement funding and investments and making them simple.
I loved it, and I also loved the Communications world I had created for myself, working with industry experts in my spare time. But the traditional path into Communications did not make it easy to get into the industry.
How could I start at an entry-level position while already having a long corporate career and a family?
Now, thanks to the digital phase we're in and the power of technology, that barrier is gone. I've used this time to test my strategic thinking, refine my ideas, and build a real-world Comms portfolio. Wise use of AI as a collaborator and brainstorming partner can be incredibly helpful.
What surprised me most was the strength of my transferable skills. My 20+ years of work across different divisions with different senior executives in Finance, HR, Operations, IT, and Sales means my approach to communications is influenced by one critical truth: Every touchpoint must be a strategic driver of revenue. Comms is a partner, not a problem-fixer.
I am now fully embracing my path as a Communications Strategist.
I help overwhelmed small and medium business owners turn their brand voice and social media confusion into a clear, confident, and revenue-focused plan.
This is a natural transition—I'm still helping people build a strong foundation for their future, just from a different, strategic perspective.
If you are or know a business owner ready to get clarity on their brand and drive results, let's connect!
