Does online giving cannibalise offline giving? According to an article in Nonprofit PRO, "This online versus offline wall is mostly in our own heads. The data clearly shows that donors do not see themselves as online or offline—they’re just supporters who don’t care about the attribution games nonprofits play."
The report goes on to claim an interesting fact: "Online donors 65 years and older have the highest retention rate." Previous perceptions that online givers are younger, is completely untrue. Older donors are still the biggest supporters of charitable causes across all giving channels.
