Founded by two biological sisters, Joyva (aka Majoy) and Taetjo (aka Balee), Majoy & Balee Beauty Bar is a proudly South African beauty brand rooted in passion, perseverance, and purpose.
Hailing from Mphanama village near Jane Furse, their journey started humbly as a hobby. Majoy, a qualified social worker, battled acne and scars, and discovered the healing and confidence-boosting power of makeup. Her compassionate nature and understanding of self-esteem issues fueled her desire to help others feel beautiful. Alongside her sister Balee, who is currently furthering her studies, the self-taught duo transformed their love for beauty into a thriving business—refining their artistry by training with some of South Africa’s top celebrity makeup artists.
In 2017, they did their first bridal client (their cousin) free of charge. By 2019, thanks to word-of-mouth and the power of social media, bookings were rolling in. Their breakthrough came when they worked with prominent names like Mahlako Kgamedi, Mapula Monyepao, DJ Lamiez, and Skeem Saam actresses Melita, Ntswaki and Lewatle.
From offering makeup services to hairstyling and installations, their brand has blossomed. In 2024, they reached new heights, working with international clients in Dubai, London, and Germany.
Now proudly serving clients in both Burgersfort and Pretoria, Majoy & Balee Beauty Bar is known for delivering flawless results, professionalism, and a warm, sisterly touch.
Beyond beauty services, the brand is passionate about empowering the next generation. They offer training in makeup and hair installation, helping aspiring entrepreneurs gain the skills and confidence to build their own beauty empires.
