🎉 A New Chapter for Bossie! 🐘🇿🇦

I am incredibly proud to share that I am now a Cultural Site Guide Level 4 for the Eastern Cape Province, as well as an AENP Accredited Field Guide for Addo Elephant National Park. 🐘🌿

For me, these are more than just certificates, they represent the beginning of a new adventure and a dream to share my love for the Eastern Cape, its people, history, nature and tourism with others.

From the magnificent elephants of Addo to our unique culture and fascinating history, I can’t wait to explore and share this incredible province with visitors from around the world. 🌍❤️

A Glimpse of Graaff-Reinet’s Heritage 🏛️📸

Standing proudly in the heart of Graaff-Reinet is one of the Eastern Cape’s most remarkable historic landmarks, the magnificent Grootkerk, or Dutch Reformed Mother Church.

Built in the Gothic Revival style, the present church dates back to 1886–1887 and was designed along the lines of Salisbury Cathedral in England. The local stonework, soaring spire, intricate Gothic details and beautiful wooden interior make this building a true treasure of the Great Karoo.

These photographs were taken during visits to Graaff-Reinet, capturing the church from different angles, from its impressive exterior to the beautiful craftsmanship inside.

For me, photography is not only about taking a picture.
It is about capturing a place, its character and its story.

Maitlands Beach, where the dunes meet the sea. 🌊🏖️

This morning I took a walk along one of the Eastern Cape’s beautiful coastal treasures.

Golden dunes shaped by the wind.
Endless stretches of sand.
Footprints disappearing into the distance.
The sound of the ocean in the background.

Sometimes you don't have to travel far to find a place that makes you stop, breathe and appreciate where you live.

🥾🌊 A MORNING ON THE WILD SIDE OF THE EASTERN CAPE 🐋

Vanoggend het ek die kusroete aangepak van Kini Bay na Lorrie Bay en terug na Kini Bay.

Kilometers se asemrowende kuslyn, die geluid van die branders, vars seelug en daardie gevoel van vryheid wat net ’n goeie hike langs die see kan gee. 🌊🥾

Maar tussen die rotse en branders het ons op ’n onverwagse en hartseer stukkie natuur afgekom, ’n walvis wat op die kus uitgespoel het. 🐋

Dit is oomblikke soos hierdie wat jou weer herinner hoe wild, kragtig en onvoorspelbaar die see kan wees.

Ons Oos-Kaapse kuslyn het soveel stories om te vertel. ❤️🌊

Cape Recife Lighthouse. Where the Ocean Meets the Sky 🌅

As the sun slowly disappeared beyond the horizon, the Cape Recife Lighthouse came alive, its beacon shining brightly over the waters of Algoa Bay. For more than 170 years, this lighthouse has guided sailors safely home through rough seas, storms, and dark nights.
Standing on these windswept dunes, you can feel the power of nature. The crashing waves, endless beaches, colourful skies, and fresh ocean air remind us to pause and appreciate the beauty around us.

Every sunset here tells a different story. Some people come to photograph it, some come to walk the beach, and others simply come to watch another perfect Eastern Cape day come to an end.

Cape Recife is more than a lighthouse, it's a place of history, adventure, and unforgettable memories.
