Extraordinary Ripples

Not long ago I coached a leader who walked into the room carrying more pressure than clarity. Halfway through our conversation, he paused and said, “I have been leading from survival, not purpose.” That moment changed his perspective. It was a calm shift that awakened a clearer voice within a leader who came to his senses.

It reminded me that extraordinary ripples do not begin with perfect plans. They begin with honest reflection, brave self-awareness and the decision to grow on purpose.

Leadership expands when we slow down long enough to hear ourselves again. Extraordinary ripples start within.

Finish the year Strong

Behind me are vegetables that were just seeds three months ago. What are you doing with the seeds you have been given?

As we begin this new week, we walk with confidence knowing that God goes before us. His guidance gives us strength, His wisdom directs our steps and His grace carries us through every challenge.

No matter what this week holds, we remain focused, disciplined and faithful. We will not give up. We will stay aligned with purpose and finish strong in everything we do.

May this week be filled with clarity, favour, courage and divine direction. We move forward trusting God and giving our very best.

Learning Has Many Classrooms

In the NPO world, learning rarely comes packaged in boardrooms or formal training rooms. Sometimes it shows up in unexpected places like dusty playgrounds, shared laughter and a team dancing together in the middle of a community visit.

This moment reminded me that growth is not always serious or structured. It is also joy, movement, connection and the ability to adapt to whatever space you find yourself in. When we serve communities, we learn with them through play, through presence and through being fully human. This is because learning is not only what you absorb from a textbook. It is also what you absorb from people, experiences and showing up wholeheartedly. In the corporate and even non-profit space:

💚 Adaptability is a skill.
💚 Joy is a teacher.
💚 Community is a classroom.

And when we allow ourselves to embrace all of it, we grow in ways that no formal programme could ever teach.

Sometimes the most powerful learning comes from simply paying attention to ourselves. Your story, your work and your journey are always speaking to you. Here are a few questions to guide your inner listening:

✳️ When was the last time you allowed yourself to learn from joy instead of pressure?
✳️ How often do you pause to recognise the lessons hidden in the everyday moments of your work?
✳️ What moments in your work remind you that learning can be simple, human and beautifully unexpected?

The weekend often gives us a brief pause, a chance to catch our breath, reflect and reset. However, when Monday arrives, many of us rush straight into the week, carrying old worries, unfinished thoughts and mental clutter.

What if this time, you did it differently?

Before diving into your to-do list, take a moment to realign.
Ask yourself:

Many a time we let past disappointments harden our hearts. We should not. Instead, past disappointments should deepen our wisdom.

Remember: Every ending carries the seed of a new beginning. You are still alive therefore your story is not over but unfolding.

Back in March, I wrote about new beginnings and marching forward with purpose.

I wrote those words with hope and passion in my heart.

Now here we are, at the end of July.
🌞Seven months in year 2025.
✅Some goals gained momentum faster than expected.
❎Some dreams got delayed, waiting patiently on the shelf.
🧘🏽‍♀️Some lessons humbled us as they came wrapped in challenges, discomforts and disappointments.
And through it all, we kept showing up. We are still standing.

🌱 Growth is not always loud. Sometimes, it is quiet courage. A decision to keep moving forward even when clarity is blurry and motivation is low.

As we prepare to step into August, may we take a moment to reflect:
🔹What have I learned about myself this year?
🔹What do I need to let go of?
🔹What do I still believe is possible?

Your life journey deserves reflection because your story matters. Remember, your breakthrough is not behind you, it is waiting for you to say YES.
