Dear , this weekโs offers let you MIX & MATCH a lovely family meal to enjoy al fresco on these balmy evenings. Better yet, you donโt have to reheat anything, though you are welcome to if you prefer. Here is our list of summer fare for 16 and 17 October:
SUMMER CHICKEN
Roasted chicken thighs and legs, rubbed with our own comforting blend of tikka spices (i.e., warm spices, not chilli), with a side of fresh courgette ribbons in mint and lemon. Delicious served at room temperature! Add a salad from our list below or make your own. R150 serves 2
TURKISH BEEF BรREK
A phyllo pastry โworsโ stuffed with lean minced beef infused with a mixture of mild Middle Eastern spices, garlic and chopped dry apricots. It is rolled, shaped into a coil, baked and finished with sesame seeds. A fragrant dish that is easy to serve at room temperature in this weather. Add a salad from our list below or make your own. R150 serves 2
LEMON CHICKPEA SALAD
Chickpeas roasted in lemon juice and zest, tossed with green onions, cucumber, olives, garlic, and marinated mozzarella, then finished with an herb-and-mustard vinaigrette. R120 (2 side helpings)

Our cous-cous salad is all the rage and perfect for summer. We prepare ours with handmade Portuguese cous-cous, dried apricots, cranberries, roasted vegetables, almonds, cucumber, tomato, and feta, finished with a lemon juice, olive oil and fresh herb dressing. R120 (2 side helpings)
PEAR SALAD
A fresh gluten-free salad with pear wedges roasted in olive oil and black pepper, served with baby spinach, cranberries, pecans, and a maple-and-mustard dressing. R110 (2 side helpings)
TOMATO TARTE TATIN (12cm tartlet)
The first tomatoes of the season, baked with fresh basil in puff pastry and topped with an olive-honey compote. R50 each
MIELIEBROOD SERVED WITH BASIL PESTO (20cm round bread)
A smash hit last week, we were asked to repeat this homemade mieliebrood (made with corn, flour, eggs, butter, and oregano) served with pesto (made with basil, garlic, parmesan, and olive oil). R300 serves 8-12 as a side dish.
