Workshop Foreman – Sandton
Salary: R25 000 – R30 000
A well‑established dealership in Sandton is seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman to support the Workshop Controller and ensure the smooth, efficient and high‑quality operation of the workshop. This role suits a hands‑on leader who maintains high technical standards and manages a team with confidence and fairness.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Workshop Controller in daily workshop operations.
Ensure all manufacturer repair policies and procedures are followed.
Maintain exceptional service and repair quality to ensure customer satisfaction.
Maximise productivity through effective use of labour, equipment, and materials.
Supervise technicians, apprentices, wash‑bay staff and workshop cleaners.
Ensure correct use of diagnostic tools, equipment, and repair techniques.
Maintain strict control over parts, materials, and workshop documentation.
Oversee job progress, costing accuracy, defect coding and workflow.
Enforce health and safety standards at all times.
Manage sublet suppliers to ensure cost‑effective and timeous delivery.
Authorise consumables, internal parts requisitions and non‑productive time.
Ensure customer vehicles and property are always secure.
Experience & Skills Required
Proven ability to supervise and manage a workshop labour force.
Strong ability to assess, guide and report on staff performance.
Confident in discussing and negotiating solutions to customer concerns.
Solid technical knowledge with the ability to maintain and update skills.
Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
