Job Specification
The Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Facilitator will provide support to the Board or Directors and Operational leadership in South Africa.
The BBBEE Facilitator will serve as the primary contact for all BBBEE information.
Key Responsibilities:
Sustainable Development and CSI and Enterprise Development
• Lead engagement on Sustainable Development, i.e. Internal and External Transformation in using BBBEE as a primary measuring and monitoring tool
• Operate as an external representative on all social investment and development issues
• Oversee development and ex*****on of BBBEE strategy and programmes
• Monitor sustainable development initiatives and progress across the organisation (e.g. Supplier and Enterprise Development, Employment Equity (EE), Corporate Citizenship, etc.)
• Strongly influence Inclusion & Diversity initiatives meant to support targets for BEE and EE
• Strongly influence the development of progressive targets and implementation plan to achieve improved scores on employment equity, management and control, skills development and preferential procurement.
• Lead the setting of progressive targets and the development of implementation plans to improve scorecard performance on enterprise development & socio economic development
• Support engagement with key government stakeholders on transformation performance
• Ensure communication efforts in sustainable development to internal and external stakeholders
• Develop enablers for implementation of sustainability.
BEE Monitoring and Tracking
• Understand BBBEE imperatives and DTI Codes of Good Practice - continually review changes in legislation, communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Conduct BBBEE research and implement best practices where relevant.
• Identify improvement opportunities and impact.
• Attend status meetings with BBBEE stakeholders.
• Prepare reports and presentations as required.
• Update and circulate BBBEE progress reports.
Documentation
• Publish and maintain BBBEE documentation for RFI, tenders, proposals and supplier registration
• Perform role of BBBEE knowledge expert
• Review completed BBBEE information for accuracy.
• Manage change control
• Drive BBBEE audits.
Communication
• Work with Internal and External resources
• Promote understanding of BBBEE legislation
• Assist in the development of communication materials as required
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience
• Business related tertiary qualification preferred
• Strong business acumen
• Understanding of business and industry context
• Deep understanding of political and social development landscape and government development agenda
• Knowledge and connections with NGO community
• Deep understanding of BBBEE and sound knowledge of
Employment Equity
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact with key senior executives
• Strong attention to detail.
• Microsoft office applications
• Ms Project (basic knowledge)
