At the heart of our collaboration is a new approach to community based economics, thoroughly grounded in African philosophy and practice, called Collabronomics. Over the coming years, this new approach is to be built up as the very theoretical and practical foundation for AFlead’s effective LED (Local Economic Development) Services – complemented and supported by an envisioned development sanctuary, municipality-based community development hubs and a knowledge creating center focusing on research and transformative education.

Strong leadership in our municipal structures is now vital for creating a healthy economy. Councillor V Fortuin testifies on her personal experience with AFlead's Dr Emil Nothnagel as facilitator at the Mossel Bay Municipality. Initially, the Municipality scored very low in their Maturity Assessment. Thereafter, she partook in a five day programme by Emil, where he taught her and her team how to successfully approach their responsibilities and mandates.
