Excellerate Services has taken another step towards a smarter, more sustainable fleet with the introduction of our first two fully electric vehicles: Geely E2s for Excellerate Cleaning and Excellerate Security.
But this isn’t simply about going electric because it sounds good.
It’s about finding the point where environmental responsibility and commercial efficiency meet.
Our initial modelling shows the Geely E2 could deliver approximately 72% lower energy costs per kilometre compared with a comparable petrol vehicle. And while an EV produces zero tailpipe emissions, we’re also taking the realities of South Africa’s coal-heavy electricity grid into account. On a full grid-to-wheel basis, we estimate an initial carbon reduction of approximately 17%.
Each vehicle will travel around 40,000 km a year on normal return-to-base routes as part of a formal fleet pilot. The data we collect will help determine where EVs make operational, environmental and financial sense across our national fleet.
Because sustainability works best when it is also sustainable for the business.
