On Monday 1 June, I am opening the doors of Thabong 2 Library to 40 women who have been struggling in silence. Women who have lost jobs, lost hope, lost themselves. I know this woman. I am this woman.
I am launching Lemonade Mondays — because when life gives you lemons, we make lemonade.
Monday was chosen deliberately. Monday is a new week. A new opportunity. Full of possibilities, full of hope. Every Monday these women will walk through those doors and say — I am here. I matter. I am showing up for myself.
This is a 6 month free programme for women to heal, find their feet, and build something of their own. It costs them nothing. Because they have already paid enough.
What I need is simple. A cup of coffee and a slice of bread for each woman when she arrives. Something that says — someone prepared something for you today. You are worth that.
You can help in two ways. Bring bread, coffee, milk or sugar directly to Thabong 2 Library on Monday 1 June before 9:30am. Or share this message and help me find the women who need this programme and the hearts who want to support it.
