Today, we celebrate what makes us who we are.

Our languages. Our traditions. Our stories. Our food, music, creativity, and the people who have shaped the communities we call home.

At The Change Institute, we believe that people are at the heart of every change. Our heritage is part of that story. It connects us to where we come from, teaches us about one another, and helps us imagine the kind of future we want to build together.

Heritage is not only about looking back. It is about what we carry forward and what we choose to pass on to the next generation, particularly for entrepreneurs in our country.

Today, let’s celebrate our differences, share our stories, and take pride in the many cultures that make South Africa what it is.

Day 1 of our Women in Business Bootcamp in North West with Standard Bank is officially underway.

When we opened applications, the response was overwhelming. 110 women put their hands up for the opportunity to learn, grow and strengthen their businesses.

We could only welcome 30.

That made the selection difficult, but it also reminded us just how much entrepreneurial ambition exists in our communities.

Today, 30 women stepped into the room ready to learn, question, connect and grow.

This is more than a training programme.

It is about giving women the knowledge, tools, confidence and networks to build stronger businesses and create sustainable opportunities.

And this is only Day 1.

30 women. One community. A journey towards growth.

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲.

The Change Institute, funded by Standard Bank South Africa, is bringing a free three-day Women in Business Bootcamp to Rustenburg from 21 to 23 September 2026 in Rustenburg, Kings Palace. 𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙮 30 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨.

This is for women already in business, not ideas on paper. You qualify if your business has been trading for at least a year with paying customers, is at least 51% female owned and CIPC registered, turns over R50 000 or more a year, operates in North West in any sector, and you can attend all three days in person.

• Day 1, Strategy: where your business stands, who your best customer is, your three growth priorities.
• Day 2, Digital and sales: a digital marketing plan you can run yourself, a live business profile, free AI tools, and the sales actions that bring in revenue in the next 30 days.
• Day 3, Money: your own budget and cash-flow, a pricing calculator, separating business and personal finances, and a compliance checklist covering CIPC, SARS, UIF, COIDA and POPIA.

You leave with seven completed tools, a signed 30-to-90-day action plan, an active digital presence, a confident price and a certificate of completion.

There is no fee. The only cost is your commitment. Transport to and from the venue is for your own account.

On 9 August 1956, over 20,000 women walked to the Union Buildings and declared: Y𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯, Y𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘢 𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘬.

They didn't march for themselves alone. They marched for every daughter who would one day sit at the head of a boardroom table, run a business, employ her community, and build a legacy.

Today, South African women are not just participants in the economy, they are architects of it. They are founding companies, driving innovation, raising families, and holding communities together with the same unshakeable resolve that defined 1956.

The march never stopped. It just changed form.

To every woman building something, a business, a home, a future, you are the answer to what those women prayed for.
