POLOKWANE – Two people died and four, including three children, were injured in an earlier head-on collision between two vehicles on the N1 south of Polokwane.
According to authorities a truck and sedan are involved.

“The incident happened just before the Ultra City filling station and the northbound lane, direction Polokwane was closed,” says Mike Maringa, Media Liaison Officer for the Department of Transport.
Two people from the sedan were killed and another person was critically injured. Three children, also from the sedan, sustained minor injuries. “The truck driver and his passenger escaped without injuries.”

The exact cause of the incident is not yet know but reckless and negligent driving has been cited as the possible cause, he concludes.
