Friend of Krone, chef and writer Jago Rackham , has published a new book “To Entertain: Instructions for a Dinner Party“ which we’ll be putting to good use.

To launch his new cookbook ‘To Entertain: Instructions For a Dinner Party’, Jago Rackham gathered friends in his and his partner Lowena Hearn ’s home to celebrate.

Anna Cafolla writes for that “For drinks, guests enjoyed South African winery Krone’s Cap Classique, a vintage sparkling wine produced in champagne traditions” and helped themselves to tins of Ronan Caviar sat atop cold contretemps stones, which people spooned onto fistfuls of chips”.

And “at the centre of the curated culinary chaos? A gigantic domed cake filled with Cornish strawberry jam and rosemary syrup, sculpted jagged peaks of ivory buttercream. “It’s like the Titanic,” he observes.”

“Cap Classique - the South African answer to champagne - is a fast-growing category, and Krone’s vintage-only wines are among the top tier. A-list winemaker Rudiger Gretschel has honed a range that includes more classic-style bruts, single vineyard cuvées and even a blanc de blancs aged in amphorae. The beautifully restored farm in Tulbagh often hosts collaborations with visiting artists and chefs.
