There is a quiet clarity to Chenin Blanc that feels especially fitting to pause and appreciate today.

Grown in the cool, ocean-influenced climate of the Crags, our Chenin carries a natural brightness, where notes of nectarine, citrus blossom and a subtle flinty minerality unfold with ease.

What we’re drinking with our roast this week.
There’s something about a slow roast that calls for a wine with just as much depth and warmth…

Enter our Reserve Pinotage, rich, expressive, and made for moments like this.

Think layers of ripe plum, dark berries, subtle spice and toasted oak, with a beautifully structured, full-bodied finish that holds its own alongside bold, hearty flavours.
The richness of the lamb + rosemary + garlic mirrors the wine’s savoury, spicy undertones, while the juicy dark fruit cuts through the fat perfectly.

Simple recipe idea (save this )

You’ll need:

Leg of lamb
Fresh rosemary & thyme
Garlic cloves
Olive oil, salt & pepper
Potatoes (for roasting in all those juices)

Method:

Rub lamb with olive oil, garlic, herbs, salt & pepper
Roast low & slow (160°C) for 3–4 hours
Add potatoes halfway through to soak up the flavour
Rest, carve, pour a glass, and enjoy

Set against one of the most scenic corners of the Garden Route, the Equine-Librium Outdoor Grand Prix returns as one of the Western Cape’s leading showjumping events, bringing together established riders and emerging talent for a weekend of considered, competitive sport.

We’ll be there, pouring a selection of our wines,

At Whiskey Creek, our Pinotage is shaped by the place it’s grown.

Award winning winemaker Anton Smal shares why this site in Plettenberg Bay stands apart, with its natural slope and koffieklip soils.

These iron-rich soils, layered with clay, encourage the vines to root deeper and grow steadily, bringing structure and depth to the wine.

“For our reds, we seek out sites with more koffieklip and less sandy loam.”

It’s a considered choice, resulting in tasting notes that have been guided by the land.

How can two Plett farms harvest the same varietal, be guided by one winemaker, and still produce two entirely different wines?

There is a reason for it, and it lies somewhere between the sea, the slope and the soil across this small stretch of coast. This is your chance to taste the nuance for yourself.

One Bay, Many Wines is a guided comparative tasting hosted across the route, placing the same varietals from different sites side by side in the glass. One bay, nine estates each with their own story, and an evening spent understanding the impact of the land.
