PREFACE

By the General Manager-Michael Musonda
Grizzly Mining Limited
At Grizzly Mining Limited, we firmly believe that sustainable development and operational excellence can only be achieved through inclusivity, equal opportunity, and empowerment of all people, regardless of gender. It is therefore with great pride and commitment that we continue to champion the inclusion of women across all sectors of our mining operations, in line with international labour standards, global gender equality frameworks, and the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development of 2008.
The mining industry has historically been perceived as a male-dominated sector. However, the world is changing, and so must our institutions and industries. Today, Grizzly Mining Limited stands as a progressive and responsible mining company that recognizes the immense value, talent, resilience, and leadership that women bring to the sector. From engineering, geology, administration, environmental management, finance, safety, heavy equipment operations, and technical services, women are increasingly becoming an integral part of our workforce and decision-making structures.
Our commitment to women’s inclusion is not merely a policy obligation but a strategic and moral responsibility aimed at promoting fairness, diversity, innovation, and economic empowerment. We are proud to be contributing to Zambia’s national development agenda and supporting regional and international aspirations for gender equality and women’s participation in productive industries.
This milestone represents more than corporate achievement; it is a transformative step for the mining sector in Zambia and beyond. By creating opportunities for women in mining, Grizzly Mining Limited is helping to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and inspire future generations of young women to pursue careers once considered unattainable.
As we continue to expand our operations and social investments, we remain committed to fostering a safe, equitable, and supportive working environment where women can thrive, lead, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the company and the nation at large.
We extend our gratitude to our employees, stakeholders, government institutions, and community partners who continue to support this vision of inclusivity and shared progress. Together, we are building not only a stronger company but also a more equal and prosperous society.
Indeed, this is a milestone for Zambia, the Southern African region, and the global mining industry.

Grizzly Copper Mines Supports Cultural Heritage: CSR Team Attends Juba Ja Nsomo Traditional Ceremony

Kaonde Tradition Meets Corporate Commitment in North-Western Province

On 7th June 2025, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team of Grizzly Copper Mines Limited undertook a significant cultural engagement by attending the vibrant Juba Ja Nsomo traditional ceremony of the Kaonde-speaking people in North-Western Province. The ceremony, held under the auspices of traditional leadership, brought together dignitaries, local communities, and the business fraternity in a spirited celebration of heritage and unity.

As a long-standing partner of the Kaonde community, Grizzly Copper Mines Limited reaffirmed its commitment to cultural preservation and local development by donating over K200,000.00 in cash and assorted materials toward the successful hosting of this prestigious event. The support further cements

Grizzly’s reputation as a dependable corporate ally that consistently stands with local communities.
The event was officially graced by the Provincial Minister, Hon. Robert Lihefu, who was accompanied by senior government officials, chiefs from the surrounding chiefdoms, and investors operating in the region. The convergence of these stakeholders reflected the importance of cultural events in fostering unity, development, dialogue, and collaboration between traditional leadership, government, and the private sector.

During the ceremony, Grizzly Copper Mines was honoured and recognized as the major sponsor and lauded for being an “all-weather friend” to the Kaonde people. The company’s continued presence and support were described as a beacon of responsible corporate citizenship and a model for other stakeholders operating in traditional lands.

However, as the company continues to engage in such high-profile traditional ceremonies, it was observed that there is limited brand visibility despite the scale of support provided. In light of this, it is recommended that future contributions include the production of branded promotional materials such as caps, t-shirts, golf shirts, and banners. This would not only enhance the visibility and public image of Grizzly Copper Mines but also demonstrate pride in its partnerships and identity as a corporate brand
deeply invested in community life.

Grizzly’s participation in Juba Ja Nsomo 2025 is a testament to its broader CSR philosophy—one that blends development support, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. The company looks forward to continuing this mutually enriching partnership with traditional institutions and expanding its role in uplifting the lives of the people in North-Western Province and beyond.

The company’s involvement (Donation of K20,000.00), now in its third consecutive year, was met with profound appreciation from the Royal Establishment, which praised Grizzly for its consistency, loyalty, and generosity.

In his address to the gathering, His Royal Highness Chief Kalunkumya emphasized the vital role that private sector partners like Grizzly play in the promotion of tradition and development. Grizzly Mining Limited Joins Hands with Kitwe Teaching Hospital in Restoring Dignity Through Infrastructure Rehabilitation
In a bold and compassionate gesture of corporate responsibility, Grizzly Mining Limited has proudly partnered with Kitwe Teaching Hospital in the ongoing rehabilitation of its internal road network and surrounding infrastructure. As one of the key donors to this noble cause, Grizzly Mining has reaffirmed its place not just as a leader in the mining sector, but as a pillar of community service and compassion.
To date, Grizzly Mining Limited has contributed fuel and transportation of crushed stones from Ndola, valued at an estimated Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Kwacha (K250,000.00). This essential support has brought the rehabilitation works to an impressive 80% completion, marking a significant milestone in restoring the hospital's environment to one that reflects the dignity and care that every patient deserves.
For many years, the poor state of the internal roads at Kitwe Teaching Hospital posed a challenge not only for patients and staff, but also for emergency services. Today, thanks to the collaborative effort of well-wishers and with Grizzly Mining taking a front-line role, the transformation is well underway.
“We are proud to stand with Kitwe Teaching Hospital because we understand that health is the heartbeat of any community,” Davy S Phiri, Group CSR Manager, a representative from Grizzly Mining Limited. “This contribution is not just about roads; it’s about restoring dignity, enabling efficiency, and supporting the thousands of Zambians who pass through these gates every year.”
This initiative speaks volumes about what is possible when private industry joins hands with public institutions for the greater good. Grizzly Mining’s participation is a testament to the company’s ongoing belief that success must be shared—and that corporate presence must be matched with community impact.
As the works near completion, Grizzly Mining Limited remains grateful to have been part of such a meaningful transformation. It is our hope that this project will set a precedent for other stakeholders to join in uplifting the social infrastructure that supports our people’s well-being.
The roads may soon be finished, but the journey toward a stronger, healthier, and more dignified Zambia continues—and Grizzly Mining is proud to walk it side by side with the people.

Donation of a Toyota Land Cruiser to Chief Lumpuma VIII

On 16 April 2026, Lufwanyama District witnessed a landmark event that underscored the importance of collaboration between the private sector and traditional leadership in advancing rural development. Grizzly Mining Limited, one of the key mining companies operating in the region, demonstrated its commitment to community empowerment by donating a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser valued at K1,900,000.00 to Chief Lumpuma VIII of the Lamba-speaking people.
The ceremonial handover attracted notable attendance from government officials, community leaders, and members of the public, reflecting the significance of the occasion. Among those present was the District Commissioner, who officiated at the event. In his address, the District Commissioner commended Grizzly Mining Limited for what he described as a timely and impactful contribution to the chiefdom. He emphasised that traditional leaders remain critical partners in governance, particularly in rural districts where they serve as custodians of culture, mediators of community issues, and drivers of grassroots development.
The District Commissioner further highlighted that mobility is one of the key challenges faced by traditional authorities in expansive rural areas such as Lufwanyama. He noted that the donated vehicle would significantly ease transportation constraints, enabling Chief Lumpuma VIII to effectively carry out his duties, including visiting remote villages, overseeing developmental projects, resolving disputes, and coordinating with government agencies. He encouraged other corporate entities to emulate Grizzly Mining Limited’s example by investing in initiatives that directly benefit local communities.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Lumpuma VIII expressed deep appreciation for the generous gesture extended by Grizzly Mining Limited. He paid special tribute to the company’s Chairman, Mr. Abdoulaye Ndiaye, for his leadership and commitment to supporting traditional institutions. The Chief described the donation as both historic and transformative, noting that it would greatly enhance his capacity to serve his people more efficiently.
Chief Lumpuma VIII elaborated on the practical benefits of the vehicle, explaining that improved mobility would allow him to maintain a stronger presence across the chiefdom, particularly in hard-to-reach areas that often face challenges related to infrastructure and service delivery. He reaffirmed his dedication to promoting unity, development, and cultural preservation within the Lamba-speaking community.
Importantly, the Chief made a firm pledge to ensure that the Toyota Land Cruiser is properly maintained and utilised responsibly. He stressed that the vehicle would not be treated as a personal asset, but rather as a community resource intended to facilitate development-oriented activities for the benefit of the entire chiefdom. This assurance was well received by attendees, reinforcing confidence in the sustainability of the donation’s impact.
The event also served as a reminder of the broader role that corporate social responsibility plays in national development. By investing in traditional leadership structures, companies like Grizzly Mining Limited help strengthen local governance systems and contribute to improved service delivery at the grassroots level. The partnership demonstrated during the ceremony highlighted a shared vision of progress, where both private and public actors work hand in hand to uplift communities.
In conclusion, the donation of the Toyota Land Cruiser to Chief Lumpuma VIII stands as a powerful example of meaningful community support. It reflects not only generosity but also a strategic investment in leadership capacity and rural development. The occasion will likely be remembered as a turning point in enhancing mobility and effectiveness within the chiefdom, ultimately contributing to the well-being and advancement of the Lamba-speaking people of Lufwanyama District.
