INDECENT DRESSING: Rwandese Woman Faces 2 Years In Jail For A Revealing Dress At A Concert

Rwandan authorities have arrested and taken to court a young woman over ‘indecent’ dressing, after a photo of her in a fish net attire at a music concert appeared on social media.

If convicted, the 24-year-old faces six months to two years in prison.

On Thursday, a judge at Kigali-based Kicukiro Primary court declined to grant her bail, with the prosecution requesting that she be detained for 30 days as the investigation continues.

The case was held in camera.

The Law Determining Offenses and Penalties in Rwanda, Article 143, stipulates that “Any person who performs an indecent act in public, commits an offense. Upon conviction, he/she is liable to imprisonment for a term of not less than six months and not more than two years”.

The case has caused public outrage on social media with many condemning the government for violating women’s rights, while others argued for ‘more decent dressing’ in public.

“She risks 6 months to 2 years for expressing herself with her choice of clothing. If you don’t make a stand right now and fight for [her] this will be the norm going forward. Fighting for her is fighting for yourself,” Jessy Mugisha tweeted.

“This is an attempt to kill a big part of the entertainment and night economy. She is a video vixen, and she was at a concert at night. In the age of Instagram, music videos (which are shown on public TV), indecency can’t be defined this narrowly,” Gonzaga Muganwa tweeted.

“It is sad how people are fighting to dress naked in public in the name of human rights,” said Sabizeze via Twitter.

The court case comes a few days after the Rwanda National Police Spokesperson stated on national TV that it is committed to taming such indecent behaviours.

The police have since denied some women entry into public places and concerts in Kigali due to their “inappropriate dressing”.

A lawyer is on the run after indecently assaulting and attempting to r**e a female learned lawyer in Livingstone.
According to hospital and police sources, 30 year-old Enia Kaingu bolted from Paul Mukuka after a horrendous ordeal in Songwe Gorge near the Victoria Falls Power Station and had to walk in pitch darkness around 03:00 hours to safety.
“We have a reported case of indecent assault and attempted r**e from a lawyer Ms E Kaingu who reported that she was assaulted by a Mr Philip Mukuka who is on the run. It is alleged that counsel Mukuka over the
weekend invited a few friends for a drink up at Dr-Mazi Resort managed by the Department of Wildlife and later moved on to Bee-Hive Night Club before going to Royal Livingstone Hotel bar,” police sources said.
“In her statement to Livingstone Central Police the female lawyer alleged that while at the Royal Livingstone Hotel, Mukuka started to behave in a funny way by ma********ng in full view of his fellow female learned counsel and a male friend. The trio later left the
hotel and Mukuka suggested that he and the female lawyer go to his room at Protea Hotel, a request she turned down. Mukuka then suggested that he shows her something and they headed towards the Victoria Falls
Power Station and drove past it towards the Gorge Swing Expedition area.”
The sources added that while at Songwe Gorge, Mukuka asked to have oral s*x with Kaingu to which in fear for her life obliged.
“It is alleged that while having oral s*x with her he suggested to have s*xual in*******se to which she refused, saying he as a lawyer he
knew the consequences of r**e as she had said no. He then got furious and ordered her out of his vehicle and followed her saying he wanted to show her something. Kaingu told us that she decided to run when Mukuka seemingly bent down to pick up what looked like a stone and thought that he would push her down the over 100 metres deep Songwe

Why is it that only PF blogs, MPs, leadership, officials are the only ones with the n**e videos?
Respect for a woman is very important bane Actually the nation knows thats not Mary in the videos. The videos have come at a wrong time. We all know President Lungu and his PF never liked Mary Chirwa from the time she was FIC Director after she produced the fraud and theft report which affected many PF leaders, Ministers. This is how Edgar Lungu led PF has died. Its a p**n hub. Zambians now have to watch p**nographic videos as PF want to character assassinate DEC Director Mary Chirwa for seizing the Esther Lungu flats. The videos shared will mean nothing but only bring shame to the former President family. Whoever advised the Camp to maliciously send those videos won't gain anything in Zambia we move on quickly.

It will be very difficult for Zambia to forgive PF and its past and present leadership. This criminal thinking is what we hated before 2021 elections and it seems it has continued. True wakake sakaleka

THE pendency of cases in our courts of law is worrying. The number of people (some of them innocent) who are being kept in remand prisons without a chance to be heard is heartbreaking. It is true that there is an urgent need for a quick and speedy resolution of criminal cases so that justice can be served on the people. We must always remember that the Judiciary is the last resort for justice for the common man. It is sad that madam Mumbi Phiri is being denied an opportunity.

👉 Secondly, Mwizukanji has done alot of investment e.g she has opened a salon for Baby Bukkie, Branded herself and now she's making money through ads with different pages and companies while Benangu they invested in Learning insults and going Kuma Zanzibar.

👉 Mwizukanji is matured, it's rare that you will find her exchange words with people in public. She doesn't exchange words with every Jack and Jill that says trash about her life. For example, just weeks ago she was in the limelight over issue yama Civil servants and people mocked and insulted her left right and centre but we never saw her respond to any page or any person while Benangu with just ka simple issue Nishi masele ayakulu nayatali Kwati mutwe wako🙄.
