60% PROGRESS AT MUMBWA SITE

The Mumbwa site is progressing well, with bush clearing for panel installation currently at 60% completion, this is expected to be finished by early April 2026.

This project is part of a larger 200 Megawatt solar power plant being developed by ZAHU Energy Solutions Limited, a joint venture between Zambia and Hungary.

ZAHU ENERGY INTENSIFIES SOLAR PROJECT IN MUMBWA

ZAHU Energy Solutions Limited has intensified efforts to contribute to Zambia’s energy security by accelerating progress in constructing a major solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant with battery storage in Mumbwa.

Public Relations Officer Lukundo Nankamba said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to support national energy resilience and sustainability.

In a statement, Sunday, Nankamba explained that the project is being developed under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and is expected to be fully operational by December 2026.

Nankamba noted that the plant will generate 200 megawatts of solar power, building on the momentum of the groundbreaking ceremony held on 7th November 2025.

She said the project, which will operate under a long-term agreement with ZESCO, is anticipated to create employment opportunities and significantly enhance the country’s energy capacity.

She reaffirmed ZAHU Energy Solutions Limited's commitment to fast-tracking the Mumbwa development, supported by strong government backing and progressive energy policies.

She said with focused efforts, the company is confident it will meet its objectives and contribute meaningfully to the national grid and Zambia’s broader development goals.

“At ZAHU, we are not merely building for today; we are investing in a sustainable energy future for all Zambians,” Nankamba affirmed.
