4 POWERFUL REASONS TO GET INTO BUSINESS

in this day and era it is no longer a luxury to be in business, it has become a necessity. Why?

1. Self-employment. If you can’t find a formal job, get self-employed. Rather than wallow in frustration year after year because the government has not picked you, do something of your own. The question people always ask me is, where do I get capital? Start saving up that money you’re given by your parents, spouse, boyfriend or relatives. There’s no specific money written capital, it’s that same money you use for your expensive hair, lotion and data. Yeah that’s capital.

2. Side hustle. Everyone should have a side hustle to create an additional stream of income. All rich people have multiple streams of income. This means that even if you’re in formal employment you should still be on the lookout for a side hustle you can start.

3. Legacy. We all know that no matter how great your job is, you can't pass it on to your children when you're gone. But a business is something that can move from one generation to another. Therefore it becomes one of the great wealth creation strategies for your family.

4. Entrepreneurs create jobs. Even if many entrepreneurs start as sole proprietors, at some point in their business they have to hire someone. If we had 10,000 people starting businesses per year and each business owner hired 10 employees, we would have a hundred thousand youths off the job hunting street. So starting a business doesn’t just solve your problem, it also solves your customers and employee’s problems.

I wish you all the success in the world.

HABITS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS DEBT FREE

1. They live within their means. A gentleman called me complaining that he always has to borrow money to pay for rent because his apartment is very expensive. I said, 'your solution is simple, shift to a house you can afford that house is beyond your means.'

2. They don't spend any money without budgeting. And when they budget they follow it strictly. Yet some people feel budgeting is beneath them that's why they always run out of money before the month ends.

3. They invest in financial knowledge. That's why they are able to make correct decisions with their financial resources all the time.

I just discovered that many people spend their salaries before they even receive them.

LIFESTYLE INFLATION IS KEEPING YOU STUCK IN LIFE

So they tell you, now that you are a medical doctor you can't be getting on buses... And you go and get a loan to buy a big car...

They say now that you have a PhD your can't be living in Chilenje, so you spend your entire salary to rent a house in Salama Park...

You think to yourself now that I'm the MD I can't be going to an ordinary barber so you start paying k250 for a haircut.

My dear society expectations can drown your finances. And out of pressure you will end up spending money you should have saved and invested.

I'm not saying don't upgrade, I'm only saying be tactical and very strategic with your lifestyle upgrade especially at the beginning of your new income. If you can't say no to this kind of pressure your finances are in trouble.

I wish you all the success in the world.

BAD DECISIONS PEOPLE MAKE WITH MONEY

We live in a society where everyone wants to appear rich and this has led to a lot of people making bad decisions with their money, decisions which have costed them more than they would like to admit. Here are some of the bad decisions you need to stop making with your money:

1. Spending money you don't have. If it's borrowed, it's NOT yours. Any liability you buy with it is fake and not worth it. This includes extravagant weddings funded by loans.

2. Spending money you have NOT YET received. You hear people say, give me this item, I'm expecting some ka money next week... what if that money doesn't come? Many people who pledge money never fulfil.

3. Spending ALL your money on appearance. It doesn't matter whether you're buying a car beyond your means or clothes, gadgets or hair that are over budget. If you find yourself spending more money on your appearance than on your investments, you will pay for it sooner or later, trust me. Unless you change, now!

4. Being the 'big buyer'. After a thorough analysis I have realized that many 'big buyers' don't want to be. They are trapped in their own habit of trying to please everyone around them. It's good to be generous but do it on a budget.

Share other bad decisions people are making with their money, this may change someone's life.

I wish you all the success in the world.

RECIPE FOR BEING BROKE

1. Spending more money than you make

2. Deferring payments on your bills, you'll wake up one and they'd have turned into an impossible mountain.

3. Using loans like it's free money

4. Not controlling your impulses

5. Complaining about money with every single person you meet

You're not broke because you don't make enough money. You're broke because of the little habits which are draining your finances.

The bible says, 'it's the little foxes that spoil and ruin the vineyard.' This means that it's the little seemingly insignificant habits which cause the most damage to your bank account. What are some of these little habits:

1. Spending money out of emotion. Whether it's sadness or excitement, emotions have great power over our spending behaviour. Therefore the first thing you must control if you want to control your finances is emotions.

2. Spending money to prove a point. This may be spending to show your friends that you can afford a particular item. It could be a man spending money he doesn't have to impress a lady (very common).

3. Not tracking your expenses. If you don't sit down at the end of the month to analyze how you spent your money you'll keep making the same mistakes. You must question every expenditure. Check how much you spent on food, clothing, data, entertainment, outings, etc. Nothing opens your eyes faster than your financial analysis.

There are more tiny habits, take time to think about them and you'll start to have control over your money.

I wish you all the success in the world.

TRAITS OF PEOPLE WHO CONSISTENTLY INVEST MONEY

1. These people have set wealth creation as a TOP priority. They set money aside for investment not because they make millions but as a sacrifice for their future.

2. They control their spending. I always say financial goals have the power to control your daily spending behaviour. You'll never find yourself impulse buying if you have clear goals for your money.

3. These people apportion their money. This means that they don't hold all their money in one account. They have an investment account, an emergency fund and a spending account. This is financial orderliness.

4. They are always learning about investment options, they study various available options to know how they can create their investment strategy.

5. They are highly selective on the type of people they call 'friends'. They mingle only with like-minded people, not people who'll just waste their time talking about nonsense.

6. They don't complain about money problems because they know that a solution is being created, steadily their money is growing and one day all financial problems will be a thing of the past.

When you invest money, that money comes back to you multiplied. When you spend money, that money is gone forever. Invest more, spend less.

I wish you all the success in the world.
