Good morning.
We are happy to announce that the Zambian Fuel transporters have yet again Signed a Contract for transportation of imported Fuel Ex Dar-Es- Salaam and Beira to TAZAMA Depots in Zambia.worth $5million to run between January 2018 to March 2018. This is a very progressive move initiated by our Government. This goes to show that this government is determined to create wealth in the Subsector, grow capacity of the local fuel transporters and give job opportunities to the Zambian people. As PTAZ, we wish to thank the government through the Minister of Energy Hon. David Mabumba for the consistency and support rendered to the Subsector. We also call upon all Zambians to cease this opportunity and join Hands with PTAZ to fulfill all Contractual obligations and meet the demand. Already, Zambian transporters through Petroleum Transporters Association of Zambia have running Contracts with SAHARA ENERGY, DALBIT INTERNATIONAL AND DELTA ENERGY. So far, over $ 20 million has been received through the Zambian Banks and with this Contract and others running, we expect to double this amount by June 2018. We wish to thank the CEO of ER Industries International Energy Resources for the confidence and support that he has shown to the Zambian transporters. On our part, we shall do everything possible to deliver the products within the stipulated time.
We also wish to report that our Vehicle Asset Financing Facility with STANBIC BANK , and FNB is progressing very well and hopefully, PTAZ members will have a major boost once the facility is approved. Our local transporters have continued to acquire Fuel Tankers with the help of these two Banks in their individual capacity. We have also witnessed several Zambian companies joining PTAZ to participate in this good Policy by the government. We have since been joined by SOFI MOTORS LTD, SWIFT CARGO LOGISTICS LTD,APPLE GREEN PETROLEUM, LONG DISTANCE PETROLEUM LTD owned by the Secretary General Mr. Tembo, ZAMM IMPORTS SILFREY MOTORS and other big transporters in response to this government challenge.
ISSUED BY BENSON TEMBO, SECRETARY GENERAL.
