Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.
Compassion. Strength. Dedication.
Today, we celebrate the nurses whose care continues to bring comfort, dignity, and hope to patients and families during life’s most vulnerable moments. Their dedication, empathy, and resilience remain at the heart of hospice and palliative care.
Nurses do more than provide treatment — they walk alongside patients and families with humanity, compassion, and unwavering support. Their impact is felt in every life touched and every moment of care shared.
As the world commemorates International Nurses Day, we honour and appreciate every nurse making a difference in our communities. 💐

Let’s Talk. It Matters.

Sometimes, healing begins with a conversation.

As we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reminded that creating safe spaces to talk, listen, and be heard is a vital part of care. At HOSPAZ, we value every moment of dialogue with patients, families, and communities—because mental well-being is just as important as physical health.

This week, we encourage everyone to check in, open up and support one another. A simple conversation can make a meaningful difference.

Today, on World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we are reminded that compassion belongs in every workplace. 💛
Across our communities from healthcare providers to informal traders and miners people work hard every day, often in challenging environments. Everyone deserves a workplace that protects their health, dignity, and wellbeing.

For those in palliative care, safe and supportive working conditions are especially important, as they care for individuals and families facing serious illness. When caregivers are supported, care becomes more compassionate and sustainable.

Let us continue to value workplaces that care for people.

On this World Health Day, we join the global call to be “Together for Health. Stand with Science.”
At HOSPAZ, standing with science means advancing evidence-based palliative care that improves quality of life, relieves suffering, and supports patients and families with compassion and dignity.

Achieving health for all requires inclusive systems that integrate palliative care at every level ensuring that no one is left behind.

Let us work together to build a future where care is accessible, compassionate, and grounded in science.

On this , we reflect on the strength of women often carrying invisible burdens, yet continuing to show up for their families and communities.

Compassion means more than admiration. It means listening, supporting and creating spaces where women can thrive not just survive.

Let’s choose kindness, understanding, and inclusion for every woman. 💜

Today, on International Women's Day, we celebrate the incredible women who are the heart of palliative care.

Women serve as nurses, doctors, caregivers, educators, and advocates — walking alongside patients and families through some of life’s most difficult moments. In many homes, women are also the primary caregivers, offering comfort, strength, and unwavering support to loved ones facing serious illness.

At HOSPAZ, we also celebrate the women living with serious illness, whose courage and resilience inspire compassion and remind us why dignity in care matters.

Today we honor:
🌸 Women providing compassionate care
🌸 Women caring for loved ones at home
🌸 Women shaping the future of palliative care
🌸 Women whose strength inspires hope

Together, we continue working toward a world where every woman receives and experiences care with dignity.

This , we are reminded that compassion is often seen in simple moments shared smiles, listening hearts, and being present.
In palliative care, these moments ease suffering, preserve dignity and remind patients and families that they are not alone.

Today we joined KidzCan Zimbabwe in Harare to commemorate International Childhood Cancer Day at the Kidzcanz Rainbow Children's Village
Under the theme “Demonstrating Impact: From Challenge to Change,” we were inspired by powerful testimonies from childhood cancer survivors who shared their journeys of strength and hope.

During the event, Dr Trevor Kanyowa, Disease Prevention and Control Technical Team Lead at the World Health Organization, highlighted the importance of integrating palliative care from the time of diagnosis throughout treatment and recovery. Children deserve holistic care that supports their physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.Together, we can continue turning challenges into change
