*Who is needed at sea*?
_At sea they need Waiters, Chefs, Housekeepers, Bar attendants,Tailors, Cashiers,Mechanics, Accountants, Retail Sales Associates,Beauty Therapists, Marketers, I T professionals & many more._
*Where do you start?*
1. Visit the links of various Cruiseline job websites and search for jobs.

2.Make a Cruiseline Cv, Apply and wait for the lnterview.
*Qualifications*
For lower jobs like housekeeping, waitress,bar attendants e.t.c you don't need any certificates. You only need your High School Certificate[O level], it doesn't matter how many subjects you have so long as you can speak English.
*The lnterview Process*
You will be invited to an online lnterview via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skpe and HireVue if it is Carnival.
If your skills and experience match what they want, you get a *offer letter*...
*What happens after getting the job offer*
After getting the job offer you will be required to do;
1.Medicals
2.Visa
And for some Cruiselines a safety training course.
Even those with HIV positive are encouraged to apply for as long their viral load is low and they are taking their medication.
In Harare ,we have Dr. Pedzisai who do medicals.However, because of high demand, some people end up going to South Africa where there are many certified doctors.
*Visas*
Depending on your employer you will be required to do any of the following Visas..
_US C1/D_
This is an US🇺🇸 Visa which is required when joining your ship from any USA port
_MCV[Maritime Crew Visa]_
It's required when joining your ship from an Australian port.Its free of charge.
_Shengen Visa_
This is for European Countries.
*How much do you need?*
NB _Medicals and Visa are estimated costs_ _Some Cruiselines may also require you to do a safety course[STCW]._
_However, most Cruiselines pay for you ticket and reimburses(give back) you the money you used for Visa Processing when you arrive at sea._
*How many are going or are already working at sea ?*
Thousands of Zimbabweans are now working at sea. Others are doing onboarding process[sorting out visas and medicals].
*What is the required age?*
The minimum required age is 21 years
*How much are the salaries?*
For most lower jobs like housekeeping, waitress, bar attendants,cabin stewards and cleaners they range from US600, US800, US1200, US1800 or even US2000,depending on the job and Cruiseline.
The good thing there are no transport and accommodation costs meaning you can save--money gets deposited in your account every 2-4weeks
Contracts are from 6-8 months and reneweable provided you perform well. After this time you come back home for 2 months vacation and then you go back.
