Often people who start coach training are already good at conversations. That’s part of why it surprises them.

Because the first real lesson isn’t a framework or a methodology. It’s sitting in a practice session and noticing the pull to jump in. To guide. To be useful in the way you’ve always been useful.

That instinct is real. And it’s the first thing the training asks you to work with.

You get a structure to hold while the conversation unfolds. You learn to wait differently. The shift is subtle, but it shows up. In how you listen. In what you stop saying.

Meet Hisham Elsaied

Hisham has spent most of his career in environments where leadership is not a concept.

He has held senior HR roles in large, complex organisations, including Fortune 500 environments, where decisions move quickly into practice.

He is a CIPD Trainer and Facilitator as well as a certified ACC ICF Coach. He was the first CIPD Mentor in the region, and a contributor to HBR Arabia, writing on leadership in the context of AI and human-centred transformation.

That combination of formal grounding and lived experience shapes how he works.

The coaching industry grew fast. Faster than it’s governance.

Today anyone can print “Executive Coach” on a LinkedIn headline. If they have a website, a few testimonials and a confident tone, from the outside it all looks similar.

But in senior environments, the stakes are not small. A conversation can influence hiring decisions, strategy, capital allocation and even the direction of an organisation.

That kind of responsibility demands more than good intentions.

Professional coaching bodies like the International Coaching Federation require training, supervised practice, and demonstrated coaching competence before granting credentials.

Not everyone follows that path.

When organisations invest in coaching, the question is simple:
