The store is full of the details we would expect in this ‘spectacular store’. Described as the best store in the world.

Every touch point has something that depicts the culture of basketball.

The fan-jersey movement started to take off on the 1980’s but never really caught on in a mainstream way until 1990’s.

Rappers became early adopters of sports jerseys, including Tupac and Snoop Dogg, although both seen wearing hockey jerseys. Basketball Jerseys soon became avant-garde as well.

The trend took off. jerseys started becoming regular wardrobe for those attending games, and the young hypebeasts of America began wearing them around town.

, a small Philadelphia boutique started producing retro apparel, then in the late 1990’s signed deals with and .

They had tapped into a niche market and it exploded, described as a zombie plague.

The upholstered lounge chairs in the store with jerseys provide the details we’re all about in the store

Hugely popular amongst the basketball enthusiast, fans and super-fans who visit the store.

A place to sit, hang out and soak up the store ambience and a place to hang out whilst you get your jersey customised.

Some final images of the first bricks and mortar store in the UAE, the opening of which coincided with the pre-season games in Abu Dhabi.

A community driven space that goes beyond retail and focusses on sport for everyone.

I have always spoken about how brands have the power to do more than just sell product and how the physical presence can and should be used to inspire, connect and educate. 

This project epitomised everything I envisaged .shaker be be.

A creative force that brings together like-minded people to create work for visionary clients who trust us to push the boundaries of the brief.

We are proud to announce that .shaker are officially a Certified B Corp!

Knowing the importance of how business can and should shape society has been THE driving force over the last few years.

It has been challenging, educating and inspiring and we have met incredible like-minded people who are trailblazing what it means to drive positive change.

MulaShaker was born to re-define how creativity in business can also create change - to create impact for the people you serve - developing powerful strategies across brand, culture and growth.

Beauty Kitchen]] are changing the face of the beauty industry and are creating the most effective, natural, and sustainable beauty products in the world.

Trailblazing a move towards the circular economy.

Collaborating with some of the biggest companies in the world to reduce the 280 billion pieces of plastic generated by the personal care industry each year. 

Jo-Anne Chidley designed and launched .refill.repeat the world's first closed loop solution for beauty packaging.

Beauty Kitchen]] is also helping Glasgow become the first carbon neutral city in the UK and is THE highest scoring B Corporation UK] certified business in the UK Beauty Industry.

Jo-Anne Chidley is having an amazingly busy year and an award event clash has meant she can't join us on Wednesday, but we are honoured to have Stuart Chidley, circular economy expert and co-founder of Beauty Kitchen]] join us instead.

A fantastic end for our 4-week  x B Corporation UK] series, where we discuss all things Environment and Governance.

Really enjoying hosting the  series for the  community and hearing from brilliant women who are driving systematic change in their industry for the benefit of people and planet.

The B Corp movement took the typical 20th Century shareholder value model – where the sole purpose for a company was to maximise profits for its shareholders – at any cost.

And built it around Stakeholder value – a more inclusive and resilient environment - nimble, entrepreneurial, innovative, involving everyone to share the values and vision for positive change.

Next week - Week 3 we are joined by  - Purpose and Impact Lead at Bates Wells.

Bates Wells were the first UK law firm in the first group to certify in 2015 and were involved in bringing B Corp to the UK.

Angela supports the firm’s purposeful clients to increase their positive impacts and shares her knowledge and experience with them on the process of becoming a B Corp.

She also works with the firm’s Senior Operations Manager and Management Team to support a culture of learning and improvement around their B Corp standards and successfully guided them through their 2020 B Corp recertification and has responsibility for delivering their annual Impact Report.

According to a new report published by the United Nations Environment Programme, emissions from the construction industry reached the highest ever level in 2019, accounting for 38% of CO2 emissions.

The built environment covers every human-made environment that provides the setting for human activity - homes, retail, buildings, open spaces, the roads we drive on and the parks we walk in.

So when you are part of the problem, how do you then even begin to create a movement that drives change - putting people, planet and profit first.

In 2020, the the most difficult time companies faced, the B Corp movement grew by 25%.

82% of B Corp SME leadership teams include at least one woman, compared to 54% SME’s

65% of B Corp SME’s who sought equity finance secured all (or more) of the required amount, compared to 56% of all SME’s.
