🌍 World Environment Day Week | Thursday: Recycling and Waste Management Review

As part of our World Environment Day Week activities, ALAS Emirates Ready Mix teams reviewed recycling and waste management practices across our plants, offices and operational facilities.
At ALAS, recycling extends far beyond plastic bottles and office waste. One of today's key focus areas was concrete recycling. To support our commitment to reducing waste and maximising resource efficiency, our concrete recycling crusher has been optimised and returned to operation, allowing suitable waste concrete to be processed and reused.
We are also exploring investment in a modern concrete reclaimer system, which would allow returned concrete and wash water from transit mixers to be processed and valuable materials recovered for reuse.
Environmental responsibility starts with making the most of available resources.

🌍 World Environment Day Week | Wednesday: Environmental Equipment Inspection

As part of our environmental initiative week, ALAS Emirates Ready Mix workshop and HSE teams carried out focused environmental check-ups across our plants, workshops and operational facilities.
The inspections focused on identifying oil and diesel leaks, checking spill response equipment, reviewing emissions-related components, inspecting chemical and admixture storage tanks, dispensing systems and transfer hoses, and verifying the overall condition of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
Preventing environmental incidents starts with attention to detail. Regular inspections and proactive maintenance help reduce environmental risks, support operational reliability, and contribute to cleaner and safer workplaces.

As part of our environmental initiative week, ALAS Emirates Ready Mix teams joined a coordinated clean-up effort around our plants, workshops and operational facilities.
Focusing on the surrounding desert and industrial areas, employees helped remove litter and improve the environment beyond our site boundaries.

🌍 World Environment Day Week | Monday: Greening Our Facilities

Celebrated annually on 5 June, World Environment Day is the United Nations' international day dedicated to encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
To mark this occasion, ALAS Emirates Ready Mix is launching a week of practical environmental initiatives across its operations.
Today, we kicked off the programme with a simple step: planting greenery at selected ALAS locations. While modest in scale, initiatives like these show that even small actions can contribute to a better environment.
Throughout the week, teams across our operations will participate in a series of activities aimed at supporting cleaner, safer and more sustainable workplaces.

These days, all companies within ALAS Construction Materials celebrated the outstanding results of 2025.
From the head office in Abu Dhabi to the furthest batching plant in Al Sila and across the UAE, Bin Fadel Holding Chairman Saif Mubarak Fadel Al Mazrouei, Vice Chairman Mubarak Saif Al Mazrouei, and ALAS Construction Materials CEO Petr Celis expressed their appreciation to all teams for their contribution to another exceptional year.
In 2025, ALAS achieved the highest production volume in the company’s history, reaching 1.7 million m³ of ready-mix concrete, 1.4 million m² of concrete blocks, and 350,000 tonnes of cement. These results reflect the commitment, teamwork and daily effort of people across all our operations. Thank you to every member of the ALAS team for being part of this achievement.
