THE SARA STRATEGY: How to Turn Accountability into a Campaign Platform
⸻
Hindi ito simpleng political move.
Hindi ito ordinary campaign timing.
Ito ay isang psychological operation.
A 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 - not governance.
Because when you step back and connect the dots, the pattern becomes chillingly clear.
⸻
📍 STEP 1: CONDITION THE MIND - THE SURVEY ILLUSION
Unang hakbang:
- Create the perception of inevitability.
Release surveys.
Amplify rankings.
Flood social media with headlines:
👉 “Sara Duterte leads presidential polls.”
👉 “Sara is the clear frontrunner.”
👉 “Sara unstoppable in 2028.”
What matters is the 𝐩𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭.
Because in politics, perception becomes reality.
unti-unti itong nagiging self-fulfilling prophecy.
Ito ang tinatawag sa psychology na:
𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭.
People tend to support whoever they believe will win.
Hindi dahil sa performance.
Hindi dahil sa competence.
Kundi dahil ayaw nilang mapunta sa “losing side.”
⸻
📍 STEP 2: ENTER THE IMPEACHMENT - THE TIMING IS NOT ACCIDENTAL
Then suddenly…
As impeachment complaints pile up in Congress -
confidential funds issues, COA red flags, governance controversies -
Biglang may dramatic announcement:
👉 “I am running for President.”
Coincidence?
Hardly.
This is 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠.
Because once you declare a presidential run,
you transform from a government official facing accountability into:
A national political contender.
At doon nagbabago ang dynamics.
⸻
📍 STEP 3: INTIMIDATE CONGRESS - THE SURVIVAL INSTINCT
Imagine the dilemma of a congressman:
Pipirma ba siya sa Articles of Impeachment (AOI)
kung ang target ay isang kandidato na pinaniniwalaan ng publiko na mananalo?
For politicians whose survival depends on future alliances, that is political su***de.
Because signing means risking:
• Future retaliation
• Loss of funding
• Isolation from a potential future administration
It becomes a 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
At iyon mismo ang goal.
To create hesitation.
To stall accountability.
To weaponize fear.
⸻
📍 STEP 4: IF THE AOI REACHES THE SENATE - FLIP THE STORY
𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥.
The story will immediately be reframed.
Hindi bilang legal accountability.
Kundi bilang:
👉 “Political persecution.”
👉 “Elite conspiracy.”
👉 “Attack against the people’s will.”
At dito magsisimula ang mas mapanganib na epekto.
⸻
🛑 THE BACKLASH FACTOR - WHEN SENATORS BECOME THE VILLAINS
Because in Philippine political culture,
ang narrative ng “inaapi” ay napakalakas.
Kapag na-frame ang impeachment bilang persecution:
The senators who sign the conviction risk becoming the villains.
Hindi sila makikita bilang tagapagtanggol ng accountability.
Makikita sila bilang:
• Traitors to the people’s choice
• Political enemies
• Members of a conspiracy
⸻
⚠️ THE REAL DANGER - DEMOCRACY AS A STAGE PLAY
This is not just about one politician.
This is about a dangerous precedent.
Democracy stops being a system of checks and balances.
It becomes a theater.
Where the loudest narrative wins -
not the strongest evidence.
⸻
📌 CONCLUSION: THE ULTIMATE TEST FOR FILIPINOS
Will Filipinos continue to reward drama over performance?
Will we keep mistaking persecution narratives for proof of innocence?
Or will we finally learn to separate:
Sympathy from accountability.
Popularity from integrity.
Power from truth.
Dahil kung hindi…
Paulit-ulit lang ang cycle.
Strongman → controversy → victim narrative → political comeback.
At sa bawat ikot nito -
Hindi ang politiko ang talo.
Ang bansa.
⸻
Because until we stop rewarding political drama,
Accountability will always lose to performance -
not performance in governance,
but the performance of victimhood.
