"Mr Al Mansoori said that he expected economic growth to slow to 3 per cent this year from 4 per cent last year. History is repeating itself of 2008-09 financial crisis where SMEs are reported fleeing the country leaving debts repayment in doubt. The main reasons are lower oil and commodity prices and slowing economy which are felt most by smaller companies (accounted up to 90 percent of employment in UAE) that cannot survive long when lines of credit are restricted and companies stop paying their creditors which invite legal action against them as the system lack bankruptcy law to deal with such situation.
