There is a graphic circulating about the UAEโs new Good Conduct Certificate requirement. You have
probably had it forwarded to you. It lists nationalities, includes flags and looks official.
It isnโt.
What is confirmed is the overall requirement: a police clearance certificate is now required for
visa applications from certain nationalities, being introduced in three phasesโ16 June, 15 August
and 15 November 2026โcovering around 45 nationalities.
What isย notย confirmed is the full nationality list. ICP has not published one consolidated public
list. The versions circulating online appear to have been compiled from notices sent to individual
companies, and they do not all match. The version we received this week, for example, puts India
in the wrong phase and includes a state the UAE does not recognise.
So donโt plan a hire based on a forwarded infographic. Check the official notice issued to your
company, authority or free zone. If you cannot confirm the requirement for a particular
nationality, treat it asย unconfirmed, not as โnot required.โ
The message is simple: donโt trust the graphic. Verify the requirement before you start the hiring
process.
