RCM (Reverse Charge Mechanism)

The concept of RCM is introduced in UAE to ensure that the VAT is collected on supplies in case the supplier is not registered in UAE, usually RCM is applicable for import transactions in this case suppliers are not registered in UAE and VAT liability cannot be imposed on them. To bring equality between supplies the recipient or the buyer of goods and services shall be liable to pay VAT on import transactions to the government. RCM concept is explained with the below example in the picture.
