If your recruitment team can't answer these 5 questions, you have a data problem — not a talent problem.

1. What is your average time-to-fill by department?
2. What is your offer acceptance rate?
3. What percentage of hires pass their 90-day review?
4. What is your source-of-hire breakdown?
5. What is your cost-per-hire this quarter?

KPIs aren't about micromanagement. They're about giving your recruiters a mirror — so they can see what's working and fix what isn't.

The teams I've built that perform best are obsessed with their numbers. Not because I forced them to be. But because when you track the right things, improvement becomes addictive.

Start small. Pick two metrics. Baseline them this week.

Then build from there.

💡 “But there is still need for external recruiters — right?” 💡

✅ ✅ ✅ Absolutely.

Recruitment partners play a critical role, especially when you need speed, niche talent, or market reach you don’t yet have internally.
✔️ But here’s the real opportunity most companies miss:
You don’t have to choose between outsourcing and in‑house.

👍 The strongest organizations do both — strategically.
As someone who runs a recruitment consultancy and helps companies build their internal hiring functions, I see the same pattern over and over:
1️⃣ Companies outsource because their internal team is overwhelmed
2️⃣ Internal teams struggle because they were never set up for success
3️⃣ Leadership assumes the problem is “talent” when it’s actually structure

When you build an in‑house team with the right foundations — ownership, process, KPIs, and capability — your external partners become an extension of your strategy, not a replacement for it.
✅ That’s when hiring becomes predictable.
✅ That’s when quality improves.
✅ That’s when recruitment stops being reactive and starts driving the business forward.

⁉️ So, the real question isn’t:
“Should we outsource or build in‑house?”
It’s:
“Do we have the structure to make both work together?”

If you’re not sure, that’s the conversation worth having.

Most companies are still outsourcing recruitment when they could be building a powerhouse in-house team.

Here's why that shift matters — and how to start:

In-house recruiters understand your culture at a level no agency ever will. They build relationships with hiring managers over months, not just for one brief. They know which candidates will thrive and which will leave in 90 days.

But here's the truth: most in-house teams fail not because of talent — but because of structure.

No clear ownership. No defined process. No KPIs tied to business outcomes.

If you want to build an in-house function that actually performs, start here:

→ Define what "good" looks like before you hire your first recruiter
→ Map your hiring volumes to headcount — don't understaff and expect magic
→ Build a process before you build a team
→ Create a culture of accountability from day one

The best recruitment teams aren't born. They're built — deliberately.

Are you building yours?

Look Beyond Experience: Why Transferable Skills Matter in Freight Forwarding

The freight forwarding industry is a sector of continuous growth and constant evolution. In the UAE, companies are actively seeking candidates with relevant experience – and while that’s undeniably important, there’s a tendency to overlook the value of transferable skills.

So, what can an outsider bring to a company if they haven’t worked in the same industry?
✅ Fresh perspectives – They challenge the status quo and introduce innovative ideas.
✅ Cross-industry expertise – Skills in problem-solving, technology, customer service, or project management often transcend sectors.
✅ Adaptability and resilience – Proven ability to learn quickly and thrive in new environments.
✅ Diverse networks – Connections from other industries can open unexpected opportunities.

Experience matters, but so does potential. By embracing transferable skills, companies can unlock talent that drives growth and innovation.
