New UAE Salary Rules for Private Companies Starting June 1, 2026

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced stricter salary payment regulations for private-sector companies across the UAE.

Under the new rules, companies will be required to pay employee salaries on the first day of every month through the Wage Protection System (WPS). Delayed salary payments may result in financial penalties, suspension of new work permits, and additional legal action.

Key highlights of the new regulation:
✔️ Salaries must be paid on time every month
✔️ Companies must transfer at least 85% of total wages
✔️ Delayed payments will officially count as labour violations
✔️ MoHRE may impose fines or restrictions on non-compliant businesses

These updates are designed to strengthen employee rights, improve transparency, and ensure better compliance across the UAE private sector.
