Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Mr. Humaiun Kobir, this evening called on His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, and handed over a personal letter from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Mr. Tarique Rahman, addressed to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
In the letter, the Hon’ble Prime Minister conveyed Bangladesh’s firm solidarity with the leadership, Government, and the brotherly people of the United Arab Emirates in the context of the ongoing conflict situation. He expressed deep concerns over the attacks, the loss of lives, injuries, and damage to property. The Prime Minister also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the continued support extended by the UAE Government in hosting a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates and for the measures taken to ensure their safety and well-being. He further reiterated Bangladesh’s readiness to extend any necessary support, should it be considered useful by the UAE authorities. Hon'ble Prime Minister also invited UAE President to visit Bangladesh.
During the meeting, the UAE Foreign Minister expressed his government's deep condolences on the killing of two Bangladeshi expatriates in attacks on UAE and reiterated their commitment for ensuing protections of people living in UAE irrespective of their nationalities. He also expressed his government's gratefulness for the solidarity and support of Bangladesh with UAE government and it's people. The Foreign Affairs Adviser commended the restraint demonstrated by the UAE leadership and underscored the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomatic means. The discussion also covered the excellent state of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UAE, with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.
The Foreign Affairs Adviser is currently undertaking a visit to several Gulf countries as the Special Envoy of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to convey his messages to the leadership and to further reinforce Bangladesh’s engagement with the region.

বাংলাদেশের মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পররাষ্ট্রবিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা জনাব হুমায়ুন কবির আজ সন্ধ্যায় সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতের উপ-প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী শেখ আবদুল্লাহ বিন জায়েদ আল নাহিয়ান-এর সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেন এবং সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতের মহামান্য প্রেসিডেন্ট শেখ মোহাম্মদ বিন জায়েদ আল নাহিয়ান-এর নিকট প্রেরিত মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী জনাব তারিক রহমান-এর একটি ব্যক্তিগত পত্র হস্তান্তর করেন।
পত্রে মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী চলমান সংঘাতপূর্ণ পরিস্থিতির প্রেক্ষাপটে সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতের নেতৃত্ব, সরকার এবং ভ্রাতৃপ্রতিম জনগণের প্রতি বাংলাদেশের দৃঢ় সংহতি ব্যক্ত করেন। তিনি সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতে সাম্প্রতিক হামলা, প্রাণহানি, আহতের ঘটনা এবং সম্পদের ক্ষয়ক্ষতি নিয়ে গভীর উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেন। একইসঙ্গে, বিপুল সংখ্যক বাংলাদেশি প্রবাসীকে নিরাপত্তা ও কল্যাণ নিশ্চিত করতে সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাত সরকারের গৃহীত পদক্ষেপের জন্য আন্তরিক কৃতজ্ঞতা জ্ঞাপন করেন। এছাড়াও মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতের প্রেসিডেন্টকে সুবিধাজনক সময়ে বাংলাদেশ সফরের জন্য আমন্ত্রণ জানান।
বৈঠককালে সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতের পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী এই যুদ্ধে তাদের দেশে ইরানের আক্রমনে দুইজন বাংলাদেশী নিহত হওয়ায় তার সরকারের গভীর সমবেদনা প্রকাশ করে তিনি বলেন, তাদের সরকার সেদেশে অবস্থিত সকল মানুষের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিতে বদ্ধ পরিকর। তিনি এই যুদ্ধকালীন সময়ে বাংলাদেশের সমর্থনের জন্য গভীর কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন। এ সময়ে পররাষ্ট্র বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতের নেতৃত্বের প্রশংসা করেন এবং সংলাপ ও কূটনৈতিক উপায়ে বিরোধ নিষ্পত্তির গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন। আলোচনায় বাংলাদেশ ও সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতের মধ্যে বিদ্যমান চমৎকার দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্কের বিষয়টিও গুরুত্ব পায় এবং উভয় পক্ষ পারস্পরিক স্বার্থসংশ্লিষ্ট বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে সহযোগিতা আরও জোরদার করার অঙ্গীকার পুনর্ব্যক্ত করেন।
মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বিশেষ দূত হিসেবে পররাষ্ট্র বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা বর্তমানে উপসাগরীয় অঞ্চলের কয়েকটি দেশ সফর করছেন, যার লক্ষ্য সংশ্লিষ্ট দেশের নেতৃত্বের কাছে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বার্তা পৌঁছে দেওয়া এবং এ অঞ্চলের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশের সম্পৃক্ততা আরও সুদৃঢ় করা।
