Minor Hotels has opened the group’s third Anantara hotel in Dubai. The hotel features 252 guest rooms and suites; a variety of F&B outlets; a dedicated wellness floor with spa, gym and swimming pool; a good choice of meeting and events spaces.

Minor Hotels currently has a global portfolio of 529 hotels and resorts in 56 countries. In Dubai it operates a total of eight properties across its Anantara, Avani and Oaks brands, and will add a fourth brand into the mix in quarter 4, with the launch of NH Dubai The Palm.

There can’t be many sectors that have been hit as hard by the pandemic-related restrictions than the global hospitality sector!

Thankfully, the worst seems to be behind us and the recovery during 2022 has been impressive with international tourism hitting an increase of 182% during the first 3 months. Globally 117 million tourist arrivals were recorded, compared with 41 million during the same time in 2021 - 40% of that happened in March - a clear sign that the recovery is gathering pace.

It is expected that global port bottlenecks are set to continue until at least early next year, therefore keeping freight rates high.

Not only has the pandemic extended ship delivery times since 2020, pushing up freight costs, the current conflict and Chinese lockdowns have further added to supply chain disruptions in 2022.
