With the Climate Change Law now in force, organisations across the UAE have until 30 May 2026 to align with new requirements on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
The Climate Change Law applies to public and private entities across the UAE, including free zones. Entities should first determine whether they qualify as a “source” or an in-scope entity by identifying applicable reporting, verification and registry requirements. Second, entities should define their administrative and reporting obligations.
This is the time to put the right processes in place to measure, report and manage emissions with confidence. Early preparation supports stronger decision-making and long-term resilience.
