Etihad Rail is bringing Dubai and Abu Dhabi closer, with tickets for the new passenger service briefly going on sale ahead of its September 30 launch.

The new Dubai-Abu Dhabi route will connect Dubai Al Yalayis Station in Jumeirah Golf Estates with Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, with the journey expected to take around 57 minutes.

Comfort Class fares start from Dh39 one way, while Premium Class tickets start from Dh109. Bookings were temporarily available through the official Etihad Rail website and are expected to reopen soon.

The Dubai station will also connect with Dubai Metro through the nearby Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station, making the new rail link part of a wider public transport network.

Etihad Rail has opened bookings from Al Dhaid Station in central Sharjah, with services starting September 30.

Trains link the town directly to Fujairah in 25 minutes, with fares from AED 19, and to Abu Dhabi in one hour and 24 minutes.
