❗️Start small and grow big❗️

This year was tough for many of us. Many lost their jobs, someone’s salaries were cut, someone lost their loved ones.
Some things can’t be changed, but some is still in your hands to change! Deciding what is important, and focus on achieving it.

If you don’t know where to start - choose the industry you are interested in and see potential of growth in the future. And ⤵️

The present:

- Get a job.
- Work their schedule.
- Make a major impact.
- Take home 10% to 15% of knowledge.

So in the future:

- Create your job.
- Work your own schedule.
- Make a major impact.
- Take home 100% of that.

The future belongs to you. Create!

❗️Does your path have a heart?❗️

Today I was reminded about the book, which changed my way of thinking quite a bit in personal and business side. I have many favorite quotes from it.

I will leave this quote here:

“Anything is one of a million paths. Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path”. “All paths are the same: they lead to nowhere. But one has a heart.”

Do your path has a heart?

If you recognized the book, drop a comment below ⤵️ ☺️

❗️Don’t start your business❗️

🔺The UAE has long served as a magnet for entrepreneurs from throughout the region who are looking to start or scale businesses.

🔺The UAE provides startups with a relatively favorable regulatory framework, low taxes, and strong government support, so the dream being an entrepreneur and make living of it sounds like easy thing.

Before you start a business, you have to really check in with yourself:

📍Are you ready to change 9-5 working hours to 5-9?
📍Are you ready to sacrifice your personal life for sometime to build up your business?
📍Do you have an idea required in the market?
📍Are you ready to manage the team?

So are you sure?

If answer to all these questions yes, then you are set to go. And I will assist you with legal formalities and banking.

That which is in balance is easy to hold.

That which has not yet been defined easily takes any form.

Thin and transparent dissolves easily.

Small and inconspicuous easily penetrates everywhere.

Implement what does not yet exist,
manage what does not yet resist.

A girth-thick tree grows from a tiny seed.

A nine-story tower rises from a pile of earth.

A thousand li long path begins under your feet.

❗️The UAE constantly upgrade its regulations framework towards making the UAE more and more favorable for foreign investment and business❗️

🔺And since yesterday all the news covered with headlines - Overhaul of Companies Law to Permit 100% Foreign Ownership in Mainland Companies.

🔺The Background:

The so-called 49-51 rule, wherein foreign investors can own only up to 49% of the shares in onshore companies in the UAE and 51% were required to be held by Emirati nationals (or entities wholly held by Emiratis in case with such activities as Real Estate brokerage, legal consultancy, Audit firms and etc.) has been at the centre of discussions in recent years.

🔺In 2018 there was the promulgation of Federal Law No.19 of 2018 on Foreign Direct Investment (“FDI Law”) where Positive lot of activities was announced (122 activities mostly related to agriculture and manufacturing).

🔺And now with Cabinet Resolution no.16 of 2020 just approve these 122 activities. But along with 100% foreign ownership comes quite hefty minimum share capital requirements (7,5 ml AED) and some recommendations regarding labour.

🔺Still there are a few important updates:

📍Chair or senior executives of a company can now be removed if found guilty of fraud or abuse of authority;
📍Shareholders can now sue a company in civil court over any failure of duty that results in damages; and
📍Electronic voting at annual general meetings is now permitted.

🔺Overall, I strongly believe the UAE is a great place for doing business and living. No corporate or personal taxes, stable political and economic conditions, stable and strong currency (it hasn’t changed since 25 years or even more) makes this place attractive to foreign investors and just those who would like to work and live here.

🔝Follow the link in my profile if you would like to read the Cabinet Resolution no.16 and see list of 122 activities.

❗️Freelancer licenses to be launched in Abu Dhabi❗️

🔺Dubai was always more business oriented as there are no oil reserves, so the Emirate had to develop tourism and business related industries.

🔺Meanwhile Abu Dhabi discovered new oil reserves, the Emirate don’t forget about business as well and introduces freelancer license.

🔺Though there are no details shared about prices and procedure yet, but the list of activities, available under this license, covers more industries than Dubai one.

🔺Usually freelancer permit covers - educational, media and IT activities. Here is additional activities in Abu Dhabi:

natural and aesthetic flowers arrangement, project design and management services, translation, statistical consultations, agricultural guidance and marketing operations management, standardization and quality management, pest control, project development, procurement, technical installations, green buildings, economic feasibility studies, human resources, tourism and heritage, entertainment, administrative studies, food safety, goods designs, fine art, architectural drawings, and maritime services.

❗️Important to remember that such activities can be executed only in Abu Dhabi. If you would like to work with Dubai clients, it is required to obtain additional permit or company license.

📲Reach out if you have any questions regarding freelancer permits or company licenses.

❗️Sales rule the world❗️

Save this post and share your ❤️
🔺Sales is backbone of any business, being it products or services, even in personal life we are constantly selling when trying to convince our friends, partners to choose your side.

For the past month I was reading mostly about sales, and thought I would share with you my favorite books.

🔺 “Agile selling” by Jill Konrath

The book will help you become a sales master, and be prepared in this ever changing world, where we need to learn faster to stay competitive. What I liked the most, that there are plenty of useful and practical tips, which you can test straight away.

🔺Mastering your Key Accounts by Stephan Schiffman

Ambitious salespeople always want to increase their sales. They try to improve their skills, and work harder and more efficiently. But according to author and sales guru Stephan Schiffman, the best way to increase revenue is to sell more business to your key accounts, because your key clients already know you, your company and products, you don’t need to convince them to work with you, you rather can focus on your new product or service.

❗️Books don’t the magic though. I always try to use insights from books in my practice as soon as possible! Who else is doing the same? Comment 🙌🏻 below

❗️Sales day❗️

🔺Since it’s a sales day, I thought I would cover recent special offer from Dubai Multi Commodities Centre free zone (DMCC), which was offering to setup a representative office for free to try the ground, with deferred payment till 6 months.

🔺 was named number 1 free zone for two years in the row. Located in Dubai, in Jumeirah Lake Towers district, attracted already more than 18,000 companies, from multinational corporations to start-ups.

🔺The offer is to setup a representative office for international company for approx. 890 AED, and the rest can be paid in 6 months.

🔺Benefits of this offer are as follow:
📍6 months free trial – Full payment deferred till 6 months from the licence issuance
📍Faster setup time – licence is issued within 5 working days from application submission
📍Reduced setup requirements – Copy of parent company documents will be accepted. Minimum Share Capital or bank account are not required.
📍Reduced winding-up requirements – Liquidator, audit report, and clearance letters/NOCs are not required.

❗️But still there is a little catch❗️

📍Representative office is an office established by a company to conduct only marketing activity and other non-transactional operations only. So no sales.

📍The representative office can be established only if it’s commodity business.

📍In case you decide in 6 months if you don’t want to establish the representative office or prefer to establish a proper company with commercial activity, you will need to pay representative office cancellation fees.

Sales are great, and you can get very good deals. But when it’s related to business, it’s better to consult with experts to avoid paying a double price!

📲DM if you have any questions.

❗️UAE announces a major law overhaul to make the country even more expat-friendly❗️

🔺Following the Israeli-UAE normalization agreement signing, which represents the Dawn of a New Era of Peace in the region and its implications for business are substantial, the UAE government has embarked on one of the biggest overhauls of the legal system in years!

🔺The laws continue progressive vision to improve living standards and to continue to be a destination for foreign direct investment and to people from around the world living in the UAE.

🔺Major points:

📍From now on, matters related to divorce and separation, wills and assets will be divided according to the laws of a person's country of origin (and not Shariah laws)

📍Protection of women’s rights is another big step - There will be no longer a distinction of crimes known as ‘honour crimes’, where a male relative can get a lighter sentence for assaulting a female relative under the guise of ‘protecting honour’. Such incidents will be treated as crimes, similar to any other assault.

📍Probably the most talk about, the point related to alcohol consumption - UAE citizens don’t need to have a license to consume alcohol and no fines for not having the license, provided it is consumed privately or in licensed public places.

📍First time in UAE history - cohabitation of unmarried couples is now legally allowed.

🔺In a country where expatriates outnumber citizens nearly nine to one, these amendments makes a big difference in broadening expats freedoms and women’s rights. Well done!

❗️It’s been October of 2009❗️

🔺The world was going through the second year of the Great Recession. In US The unemployment rate rose to 10% in October 2009, the worst since the 1982 recession.

🔺And I decided to move to UAE. When you are young, you tend not to think about consequences much, you just do. I just knew I wanna go and do business here. So I obtained a tourist visa and came.

🔺But first, I understood that I need time to study the market before I figure out the business idea. So I joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in a month as business development and operations assistant. That was the best time working for the company - I learnt a lot! But it’s a different story.

🔺Since than I learnt that there is nothing bad in joining the company and be an employee, you can learn little details about business you are interested or at least built the financial base for your business.

🔺Most of the districts in Dubai was not built in 2009. Burj Khalifa was half ready, back then it was named Burj Dubai. There was not much residence property options in Abu Dhabi, so driving there every morning was the main option, and for many people. It was quite a challenge, but totally worth it.

🔺Love brining back those memories! Highly treasuring all the experience and friends that I got here for past 11 years, and would never exchange it for anything.

If you are thinking to relocate to UAE - just do it, you will never regret it! Even for a short time, it will be an incredible experience.

➡️Swipe right to see Dubai in 2009 and what it became in 11 years 💙

❗️A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles❗️

🔺 Be grateful to any experience that stands behind your back, because thanks to this experience, you are here now.

🔺Without these events, you would not have become the person you are now. Therefore, do not blame yourself for the past, but look at it from the other side. Let your mistakes be your advantage.

🔺 The transformation process and transition to the next level largely depends on the WILLINGNESS to accept any variant of the past and the outcome of events from all possible ones, and be grateful.

🔺The gratitude is not only related to personal life. When we recognize one another, the gratitude effect happens: a ripple of acknowledgment and appreciation that surges forward, transforming and inspiring us, and improving business outcomes.

🔺The more gratitude going around, the more human connections are being made, and the more collaboration, engagement, and innovation in business happens.
