Not exactly the best news to start the weekend, especially with Ramadan starting, however I wanted to alert expats living in the UAE that an 'investment firm', 79th Group, is under investigation by the City of Police. The company is believed to have offered loan notes promising fixed high returns—12% for a £10,000 minimum investment and 15% for £25,000—via third-party introducers, apparently many of their victims are living in the UAE

So far, four people have been arrested, and have seized large sums of cash, luxury watches, and jewellery during searches of five properties. All arrested individuals are out on bail as investigations continue.

So grateful to Mazhar Farooqui from the Khaleej Times for adding our thoughts about to his great expose, which has just been posted online. According to this article tens of thousands of residents have lost their life to bogus investment plans in recent years

This article goes onto reveal that in recent years, over 40,000 UAE residents have collectively lost hundreds of millions of dollars to fraudulent investment schemes

Countless individuals have fallen victim to bogus schemes like OneCoin, Habibi Coin, and GainBitcoin, which turned out to be pyramid schemes. Additionally, many people have been lured into dodgy trading platforms after being approached by strangers on WhatsApp, whom they never meet in person.
